Did the full day fishing/snorkel with Dan and Beans and let me tell you how if you do not book your snorkel and request these 2, you are missing out!! My friend and I had THE BEST time ever!! Beans caught the sardines and off we went to fish. My friend and I thought Dan and Beans were going to fish and were perfectly content watching them but no, we fished, with a literal string and some bait on a hook, no lie. We have each fished once in our whole lives and my first time I was 8 and cried lol. Needless to say after catching snapper…easily…which was super surprising, my friend caught a freakin big a$$ barracuda!!! On a string! Who does that?!?! Beans with her skills and Dan with his hook brought it in because it was too strong for my friend and let’s be real, Dan and Beans are the experts. Headed over to bread and butter and watched Beans work her magic and cut up Mr. barracuda for lunch and it was sooo tasty! Back out to snorkel to see the beautiful coral and fish. Beans pointed out and named everything we say. Got to hold a sea crab (pretty sure that was not the name) but it looked like a spider but it was a crab. Anyways…long story short, UH-MAZE-ING day with two great individuals. Thank you Beans & Dan, you made our day very special and unforgettable

We had an amazing day with Luckie and Lar. They provide an amazing custom experience, and are good enough to offer suggestions if you only have snorkeling in mind. Also, our daughter (13) has had some experiences on the ocean that have created anxiety about water and boating. Luckie talked to her about them and was very considerate, and because of this spectacular day, getting her on the water should be easier next time!! The weather was cooperative so we could snorkel on the outside of the reef. It was stunning! We saw so many different types of fish and coral. Lar and Luckie took the time to tell us what we were seeing, and would dive down to show us details we may miss ourselves. While moving between locations we did some trolling and caught a tuna. After snorkeling we went to Bread and Butter Caye for lunch. This a beautiful little caye; a great place to rest, snorkel near the mangroves, lay in a hammock. Luckie taught our son how to prepare conch, and he prepared the tuna we caught for a delicious lunch feast. Before we returned to town he took us to a shallow spot in the ocean for a stunning photo opportunity. Luckie and Lar gave us an amazing full day trip!

Did a half day snorkeling excursion - Luckie and Dan were funny, very knowledgeable and patient with us. Luckie pointed out the different fish and corals - we even saw a giant turtle and a sting ray and some beautiful sites. Facilities/boat were clean and well maintained. Cheryl was wonderful to work with - she arranged to match me up with another lovely lady to share the morning. We had the most amazing star fruit and delicious juice. What a fantastic time - I hope to come back and do a fishing excursion one day. Great experience with lovely locals - recommend 100%.

What a fantastic adventure tour, from beginning to end. This is a great crew and operation. There was a bathroom at the dock and a large sink to wash hands (and stuff). The crew (Luckie, Dan, and Beans) worked together effortlessly and were a lot of fun. They provided cold water, juice, and a fresh cold pineapple fruit snack. The panga boat was stable and comfortable – and fast! We chose a split tour of fishing and snorkeling. We wanted to experience the local custom of hand line fishing. We caught fish! We went to a quiet spot on the reef – no crowds and it was very peaceful – and beautiful! This crew is the BEST. IN ADDITION, my story: If you visit Belize, you must visit the coast and snorkel. However, I am not comfortable in the water. I would not go into water that was over my head without a life jacket. I was scared to jump off of the boat into deep water. (While I love being in the water, I don’t particularly like getting my face wet 😊). Maybe I didn’t want to join my friends on this boating/fishing/snorkeling trip. Maybe I should just not go. Thinking about hyperventilating in the water… I worried all night, two days before…What? Not take this once in a lifetime opportunity to see the most beautiful reef in Belize (on earth)? I had to try. I made sure to let the crew know my fears, very real fear. Yes, they had life jackets. On our boat ride out, Luckie talked with me – asking questions, wanting to know how I felt, why did I feel that way?, talking through different scenarios. (“can you float in shallow water?” I don’t think so, but maybe… “I will prove to you that you can” “if you can float in shallow water, you can float in deep water”. I don’t know. “I will prove it to you, we will take small steps, one step at a time”. We practiced the correct breathing technique to use – so I wouldn’t feel out of breath. He wanted me to experience the beautiful sea and reef in the best way possible – and that meant not using a life jacket to hinder me. That was his goal – providing the best possible experience for me (for everyone). The Happy Go Luckie tour group provides the best snorkel/mask equipment – so it would properly fit; water seeping into your mask is not fun. I agreed to try floating without the life jacket (Luckie sure was persuasive and confident). As one of my fears was jumping into deep water, they specially took us to a starting point that was shallow enough for me to ease my way off the boat to jump in and touch bottom. All of my friends were skilled water dogs and were on their way right away with Beans. I jumped. Luckie stayed with me. I had an expert personal instructor. How lucky was I? 😊 Small steps. “Show me how you can float, don’t worry, you can touch the bottom with your hands to steady yourself” OK. Face in the water, pick up my legs, and I can breathe. “Let’s move; use your flippers” and he showed me the proper technique. Ok. I’m scared and having a hard time focusing and sense of panic is taking over. “Take a break.” He assured me that I could stop and collect myself. “How do you feel?” Scared; I want a life jacket? That would make me feel much better. OH NO! I notice that the boat, with the life jacket, has moved far away. “You don’t need a life jacket, you proved to me that you can float. If you can float in the shallow water, you can float in any water. Water is water”. I’m not sure. I can stay in the shallow water. “The reef is waiting for you – all of the beauty”. Next step – “We’re going to float to a little deeper water. You will still be able to stand.” OK. I am moving into deeper water without a life jacket. I am floating. Water is not coming into my snorkel; I can reach up and feel where it is. I need a break. I can stand on tippy toes, but, I take a chance - I lift my legs up and I don’t sink – without a life jacket. “Are you ready to go see the exotic corals and beautiful fish?” Next step: Into deeper water. I am still really scared, but saying no did not seem to make sense, although I really, really considered saying it. Luckie was being so supportive and patient that I did not want to let him down. He just kept talking, asking me questions – “what is your fear?” It seemed silly to keep saying I don’t know. “Will you feel better if I take your hand?” YES! In my nearly 60 years of life, I HAVE NEVER BEEN willing to go into water that was over my head without a life jacket – (and even that was only one time). The man is an amazing force. Luckie was so focused on providing me with the best experience that I could have - to see the exquisite Belize reef life (without a life jacket to hinder me). I CAN FLOAT, just as he promised. I let go of his hand. We snorkeled. He pointed out sponges, corals, fish, plants, a fan worm, a conch shell crab. I held a comb jelly (delicately). I cannot thank Luckie enough for his confidence in me!
