As with other museums here a short visit suffices to pass an hour mostly. similar on offer is a past life style of former residents with possessions and photos displaying their toils,, Ok for whiling away the time and cheap too.

The original house of Montagu, full of interesting relics and historical items. Take the tour that is offered and learn about the early settlers and how they lived.

We went for the indigenous medicinal herb garden situated behind Joubert House. It's bigger than expected and all the herbs in the garden are labelled for convenience. We stocked up on Cancer Bush tea which is sold at the front desk.

Tucked away on Long Street it's an interesting view on life as it was in Montagu, its a shame the herb garden is falling into disarray
