There is a car park at the bottom of the walk, which starts with a few steps and is a steady climb the the top and great views over the surrounding countryside.

This moderate loop hike is well worth the efforts. We went in June but I'm sure the fall is beautiful but much more crowded. We had trail to ourselves for the most part. The walk up is fairly easy and about half of the lower...More

Walking whiteside is a family and friends favorite. Easy walk up a wide trail, but there are quire a few rocks of varying size. There are two trails, the second one splits at the beginning of the stairs. It is a bit of a challenge,...More

I went on a cool crisp October morning before the sun broke. I had the mountain all to myself, I recommend if you do this make sure you have a good headlamp. Trail is well beaten and if you are brave enough you can venture...More

Keep your children close! There are very steep areas, the view is amazing , keep in mind the mud if you go when wet.

Amazing hike and views. Trails were well defined and easy to navigate. Highly recommend visiting Whiteside Mountain. The resort Old Edwards Inn had a guided excursion to the trail and it was so nice having a tour guide to tell us about the history of...More

Took my wife and I maybe 1.5 hours to hike? It's a big loop, so we decided to hike the other direction once we finished just to get a little more exercise. Pretty reasonable hike for all ages. Took a sandwich for lunch and found...More

Great hike, stay to the left to start..it's an easier upward hike that way. Good vista views and lots of different scenery. Keep children under close watch.

A wonderful hike and great views at the top. The hike is probably a "moderate" hike, with the first half being the most strenuous. We did the "more difficult" route to the top, climbing up the steps on the ascent, rather than taking the old...More

Hi, does anyone know of any campsites around this mountain? Thanks!

The best spots near Whiteside are both approximately 3-4 miles west of Highlands off Highway 64 west, to wit: Cliffside Recreation Area and Van Hook Glade. Both have nice campsites with views of Cliffside Lake.
Is hiking this mountain the week of Thanksgiving doable? I know weather is always a factor, but just wondering if anyone was able to get to this hike in the last couple of years during Thanksgiving? Our trip is planned during that week and we are hoping to get in some waterfall hikes as well too.
