Doing the trek is amazing. I would suggest to start early so that you can take your time and enjoy the view but make sure you reach the pickup point in time. Colin was awesome. He gave as an advice to always keep an eye on each other and enjoy the journey. He even came to check on us during our last 40 minutes and talked to us regarding a plan B in case we did not make it. In the end, he waited for us!!! Kindness goes a long way! Kudos to Colin and his crew!!

Total legend! Do not believe what the sour review was about we were on that Bus and it was quite appalling the carry on by that group flying a drone above our head. Colin was a legend he kept calm and professional. We were all told 330pm for the shuttle and we were the last ones off despite a dodgy ankle. Total time 8 hrs 10 minutes. I overheard this group saying oh dont worry the bus driver has to wait for all of us. We were picked up on time form our lodge in Owhango and delayed by this pick up of this group. Can not fault the driving and it is unfortunate that Colin waited for that ungrateful group but we understood. Dont worry guys we appreciate how difficult things are you offer a fantastic friendly service dont let them get you down. Life is to short!!!

I was a bit surprised that there were so few negative reviews here, as we had the worst possible experience you could possibly have from a shuttle service; However, in the aftermath I now understand; He refused to pick some of our group up after a hike as he accepted additional bookings and struggling with his workload, so we asked for a partial refund. At this point he got insulting. I won't go into details, as I tried this previously and he posted lies below my review. So maybe people should not focus too much on the content (as he will dispute everything) but just on the fact that our group was more than just dissatisfied with the experience we had to go through after booking this company. Apart from these lies, he and his friends threatened us with physical violence in case we would write a negative review and somehow managed to delete two previous reviews. I didn't even know that is possible and now will do screenshots of this review here as evidence and check at some point, in case he is taking this down again.

End the day the contributor used a tactic of bullying through a bad review to attempt to get an unreasonable refund after using the service from start to finish. We dont need to dispute anything other than to know that we would advise any other activity/hospo provider to be weary of this individual and his group of friends who also were involved in other cyber bullying on reviews. Our services is to provide transport to and from destinations in the Tongariro National park as sole operators on this day we provided transport to and from the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, working to what is a difficult and unpredictable environment. If the contributor expected more they should have used the services of a guide who would have not put up with their nonsense.

I posted this before, and am posting again as this is the most shameless service I’ve even seen after working in the tourism industry for more than 7 years. A friend of mine booked this shuttle service on behalf of us. As part of the group who experienced this service I think I’m entitled to review this service. Ended up being picked up with a different, shared and rundown shuttle bus from agreed private van. “We are different from other companies as we provide you will the flexibility when you are a group of 8”, that’s what the service said over the phone to our group leader, that’s why we decided to go with them. Turns out it was everything but being flexible. “Send me a message when you’re 90mins away from the end the hike”, Colin gave us the word. We texted him at the 90mins mark at the park at 3pm. He relied: Make it 4pm or a late fee applies (as seen in the attachment). We were shocked and started running. It was the last part of the 8 hours hike and everyone was exhausted. I suppose only if we had wings could we make it within one hour. I tried to ask why can’t be stick to the original agreement but I lost reception all the way when we were running in the bushes. When we finally made it at 4pm (yes we made it can you believe it!!!) and kindly asked him if he can wait for 5mins as two of us were only 200meters away. He refused, admitting we did book for a private van but he was overbooked and lacked the manpower to drive at different times thus putting us with other hikers but definitely no flexibility for us any more. He rushed us to board the bus and never mentioned an alternative pick up for our remaining members who arrived only 5 minutes later (but he self proclaims so on Google reviews). “I’ve already sent two groups back so you guys are very late!” I beg your pardon?! No matter how many groups you have sent back it’s none of our business and has nothing to do with our booking! There was no air conditioning in the bus in the scorching hot afternoon after the hike. All the rubbish were still in the bin from the morning: That was nothing close to what he promised over the phone and on the T&C’s (plus he never sent a T&C’s). Another two of our members stayed back to wait for the two members and we frantically arranged their transport frantically on the bus to make sure our remaining member were taken care of. After we left the bus we kindly asked him if he has a couple of minutes to discuss our initial agreement. “No!!! There’ll be no refunds!” He cursed away and slammed and door and drove away. We knew we couldn’t reason with him any more. What makes me exasperated is that the driver is now making false statements under our reviews of our experience in Google Reviews, Facebook and TripAdvisor, saying it was us who declined a private late pick up and alternative solution. Never, he has been lying. I just want people to be aware of this aggressive and abusive driver.

Colin made our day by running a 10am shuttle from Ketetahi to Mangatepopo for just my wife and I at very short notice. It was the last shuttle of the day and otherwise we would have missed out on an awesome day. He was very friendly and made sure we were properly prepared.

Thank you, Our goal is to try and think out of the box with later times no one else wants to do or get you to the crossing without the crowds. The later shuttle is ideal for the prepared fit travelers.
