Our tours are friendly, informative and fun. With no more than 12 people on board, raft beneath many thousands of fabulous glowworms to see them at their very best. We visit private caves away from the regular, more commercial tours. Our caves are on a beautiful hill country farm and your guide is also your host, so expect a really enjoyable and memorable tour of our two magical caves.

Spellbound, does this trip justice. When I was looking at doing a glow worm cave trip, I looked at the main cave sight, but after looking at the review I choose Spellbound and I am glad I did! The other sight is over run with...More

Thanks for your review, Clearly, the main attraction is the NZ glowworms, we say 30,000 , which is a conservative estimate. Derek Mason did start tours here around 1994, but most of the infrastructure was put in by our company since 2003, The Derek and...More

This trip is a beautiful underground experience suitable for almost all ages and abilities. Small groups allow for interaction with your guide or some peaceful moments in these fantastic 2 caves which have it all -bush walk, formations, glow worms and a boat trip.

I will start this review by saying the glow worms we saw were really really cool. I appreciated the fact that this tour takes you off the beaten path in a small group so you don’t feel overrun by tourists. That being said, I felt...More

We spotted Spellbound on Trip Advisor and after reading all the positive reviews, we decided to book a tour. Sometimes Trip Advisor ratings are exaggerated. This is one of those that is not. Everything said by the other reviewers is true. So many or our...More

Thanks for your review, We believe some review sites link through to bookings, we don't do this, we'd rather just have visitors that seek out or are recommended our glowworm and cave tour. We also can be booked nearly full over the summer times, so...More

It delivered on every front. The caves actually exceeded my expectations as I wasn't expecting the glow worms to be as bright and impressive. The pictures are obviously long-exposure, but in person I thought the glow worms were equally impressive as the pictures. The Moa...More

Thanks for your review, getting ones eyes adapted to night vision the rods on our retina is key to seeing the glowworms well. There's often a debate about promotion pictures, as they can raise expectations well beyond what our eyes see. Once eyes adapt, it...More
