I've seen a lot of posts about the sunsets not being wonderful; note that a sunset is best when there are clouds in the sky (thus, a cloudless day wouldn't put out the best sunset). Get there early, at least 30 min before sunset, as it will get crowded. There's a great bar here, Fortinho do Boldró, which has great... More

It is where all the Island Tours finish to see the best sunset, a beautiful place. It is better to go on your own as if you done the tour you are tired and craving for a shower.

If you happen to be there one afternoon you will watch a regular sunset, without surprises. If you're running out of time, don't bother, you're not missing a lot.

Very large fort. Many levels which keep you walking quite a bit. Good exercise getting up there and then you can go to the different levels and different views. The best views of the island in one place. Worth a visit.

The place is itself the most beautiful view, but whenever the sunset comes it becomes magical. As a lot of people is used to go there, it is necessary to arrive a little early to sit properly and appreciate the show.

Relaxed bohemian atmosphere during sunset time here. Small bar with live guitar music makes a great background to the beautiful sunset view in front of you. Grab a cerveja or caipirinha to drink and some traditional Munguza (sweet corn) and sit down near the cliff side and enjoy the music and the view! A favorite of ours!

It's a party every evening at the fort since locals and visitors alike gather here to see the day's demise. The revelry is enhanced by the fact that the Forte has an outdoor bar serving drinks and pub food, so you don't need to haul your own picnic, though there are plenty who do that as well. In the season... More

This is the most amazing sunset I've ever seen, you can see it right in between of the dois irmaos. The golden sky on top of the dois irmaos, the reefs, the sands and the calm water are just amazing, cant be described, you must see it in your own eyes. Come early during peak holliday season so you can... More
