Go early in the day so you can ascend in relatively cooler weather. There is an entrance fee when you get to the top, to get to the pyramid, but it's not very much money and you get a good view of Tepoztlan. Beware of the cheeky coatis; they are relatively harmless but very persistent in trying to get into... More

I enjoyed the hike a lot even though it was hard at some points. We walked slowly with breaks up in a bit more than an hour and made it down again in about 30-40 minutes. Take your time up there to relax your knees as even my knees hurt on the descent and I usually don't have problems with... More

(resubmitting because Trip Advisor things I used profanity in my review - I think they didn't know what "yes you can" in Spanish means) You can do this. It might take a while, and you'll likely be a sweaty mess and slightly wobbly in the legs by the time you get down, but you CAN do this, just plan to... More

Thankfully, water was available when I reached the top. It was a great hike worth repeating. 1 hour up, 45mins down…should be relatively fit to enjoy.

This is something you just have to do in Tepoztlan. The view, the pyramid, and the coatmundis (raccoon-like critters) make it totally worth the serious climb to the summit.

The hike is the best part, even though it seems there is a regular road up hill it is not, you will have a challenging but easy climb, surrounded of an amazing vegetation, and the reward is the view of the valley at the top. This is a very popular climb on the weekends, so do it in the morning.... More

Great day trip from Mexico City--but this hike is steeper than you might expect, and the rocks get very slippery. You can do it in an hour, but it's uphill all the time. Resist the urge to buy souvenirs on the way up--buy them on the way down. Lots of food and drinks are available, so don't worry if you... More

Worth the climb up the top. Took us approx 1.5 hours, ensure you have good walking shoes and water. The entrance is 47 pesos per person.

Went with my family (kids ages 2 and 6). We made it up in 1 hr 15 mins. Definitely a hard hike with kids but worth the views. Get there early before it gets too crowded and hot.
