We have checked this place out our last two visits to the Okanagan and highly recommend it.Love being served the owner and winemaker who is awesome to chat with and is great explaining how he makes his wine.We always leave there with at least a couple of bottles.Make sure this is a place you check out!

Nice wine, complimentary tasting, and a great patio. If you are coming to this part of Summerland to taste wine, our three recommendations would be: Heaven's Gate, Dirty Laundry, and Thornhaven.

We visited Heaven's Gate Winery at early in July and had the most wonderful time. The winery and patio area are absolutely stunning with views of Okanagan Lake and rolling hills. Definitely bring some snacks and grab a bottle of wine to sit and take in the views. Tyson's wines are all fantastic but I'd like to point out that his 2018 Sauvignon Blanc-Semillon is amazing (crisp, clean and refreshing) while the Gamay Nouveau served chilled is like "Heaven" in a bottle. It's light red has notes of strawberries but finishes clean and soft in your mouth. Unlike anything we've ever had. Thank you Tyson for your exceptional hospitality and amazing wines. We look forward to what the coming years bring us from your winery. Cheers from Vancouver!

As I'd heard the winery had a new winemaker, I made it a point to visit and see how it was.
While the wines are still good, what's most impressive is that the new winemaker is essentially self taught, but the wines don't look (taste it) at all!
As a sommelier, I've been told I'm too "picky", but life is too short to have bad wine. Lots of crushable patio wines to pick from, but my favourite is the rose. A bit boozy, but it's well integrated which is the sign of good wine making. Goes down almost TOO easy.
Prices are fair for what's in the bottle too which is always welcome.
While the rose is dry, there is a tiny bit of residual sugar, but a good level of acididy makes this food friendly as well and balances it out. It smells like candied apple and strawberry rhubarb pie, but it's not a sugar bomb wine.
I'm happy to say that this winery is in good hands and I'm sure the quality of the wines will only continue to improve over time.
I would have liked to have been able to talk with the wine maker, but was served by his girlfriend who was very knowledgeable. She mentioned he was originally a carpenter by trade but decided to follow his dreams and become a wine maker.
I look forward to trying out future vintages but don't stop making that rose!
And yes, the view is still incredible! The future looks bright here :)

In spite of being very busy in the tasting room, we had a great experience. New things have been happening at this winery. Their wine tasted very good, and you could tell they took their participation in the ‘light up the vines’ event seriously. The grounds were decorated very nicely. The pictures do not do it justice. If you have never been to this winery, make sure it’s on your list of things to do next time you are in the area.

The wines are very good. The winemaker is extremely personable and the view is pretty. There is live musix ob the patio most Saturdays, but souble check before you go as they reserve for special events. Make sure you stop in on your Summerland wine tour and enjoy a picnic on the patio!!
