We have a very nice property, with nice views, a patio, and decent sized tasting room. Like a lot of tasting rooms, it’s filled with various wine related items available for purchase. The story behind this winery is entertaining to listen to when delivered by the right person. I won’t spoil it, but from a marketing perspective, this winery is on brand with everything they do. Their wines aren’t bad, and the overall experience is fun.Thank you for taking the time to visit and try our award winning wines. - SaskRocks30 contributionsWe Just Keep Coming Back!We just finished two weeks in the southern Okanagan and no visit there is complete without several trips to DLV for lunch. Much like wineries we've experienced in Europe, DLV's patio is an all-ages gathering place with a terrific people watching vibe. We LOVE the self-serve food and beverage offerings and never feel rushed. More than anything else it's the team who make our visits special...Kristen, Sherry, Skylar, Willy, Myles, the folks who make the gourmet pizzas, and all the staff in the wine shop, on the patio, and those behind the scenes. And oh the wine! The Kay's Syrah and Pinot Gris are our favorites, and are as good or better than any other we've drank. After years of returning to DLV every summer we feel totally at home there. It's a feeling we've not had anywhere else in our travels. Great job you guys! We will be back next year!!!Thank you for taking the time to visit and write us such a lovely review! We love what we do but it is very inspiring to be recognized with such glowing accolades. This team truly appreciates your business and your support. Until next year!Written August 29, 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten August 21, 2024
- Fiona M2 contributionsGood wines, fun experience, amazing vista over the lake and great gift shop .The location of the winery and the setting were great. The views from the garden terrace were stunning and the ambiance was welcoming. The talk was interesting about the history of the Chinese laundry and the company's logo, but standing at the bar for the tasting wasn't as comfortable or engaging as other wineries in the area.Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 30, 2024

Dropped in on a winetasting trip in October. We were being toured by a local resident that didn't recommend the wines but said the location should be seen, and this all came true. This is a lovely location, with amazing views for picture taking, but as far as a wine tasting experience there are definitely better around. Our experience was very factory like, our hostess was talking to 3 different groups of 4 at the same time, so very scripted, and just went through the motions. What surprised us the most is when 2 parties didn't finish tasting a white, the next red was just poured into the glass on top - not very professional. Wines were just okay, I feel the size of the gift shop reflected that selling knick knacks to tourists was the important part of the process to staff, which is too bad - such a lovely location! Will not go back, and will not likely purchase any further Dirty Laundry wines, too much good competition.

Beautiful patio . Confusing setup.
Pay at the machine for pizza, pick it up yourself, wander around
looking for a drink, buy tickets for tastings. Drinks are in 3 different places. Beer in one place. Soft drinks in another, wine poured at the cash. I asked for a glass of wine and they couldn’t tell me the price for the glass of wine or the number of ounces I was getting. I didn’t know if it was 5 dollars or 15. I told the cashier and she told me ‘this isn’t a restaurant.’
It might help to have a price list posted with information such as the name of wine and the price and the number of ounces. Basic stuff.
We kept getting interrupted by staff trying to figure out who hadn’t picked up their pizza. Everyone appeared to be in damage control. They had so much staff wandering around looking confused, and no service.
Why are they asking for a tip?
I came once before . I thought they might have figured it out. The pizza selection is low brow. It isn’t 1974. Management needs to spend 10 minutes online. Google pizza.

Thank you for visiting DLV and taking the time to write a review.
We will take the time to review some of our self serve and full service areas to perhaps streamline them
for the future.
I am sorry you didn't enjoy the award winning pizza. We are very proud of our Italian Forno pizza oven
that allows us to create delicious thin crust pizza to enjoy with wine or craft beer on our patio.
No it is certainly not 1974. Dirty Laundry is striving during 2020 to provide the best experience possible
with the restrictions imposed
Safe travels....

To celebrate our friend’s birthday, we went to this winery restaurant. We were seated on the patio at a table with great views of the surrounding vineyards and mountains. The menu was online and after study, we made our beverage and food selections. This restaurant is self-serve so it made it easy to get what we wanted. The Madam pizza was made with a variety of vegetables and very tasty. Although staff wore masks, it was optional for diners. Misters kept us cool and the patio area was shaded with umbrellas. Tours are available with tastings. There is also a gift shop on the property. Although this busy establishment does not take reservations and though busy, we were seated within ten minutes of arrival.

I'm a local to the Okanagan, but had never been to Dirty Laundry Vineyard... until last week. I left wondering, "What took me so long?!" This is a MUST for tourists (or anyone for that matter). The atmosphere is relaxing with a splash of sass! The patio has stunning views to take in while you sip away on great wine, beer and enjoy delicious pizza. My favorite part about the whole experience was the customer service. The kitchen was quite busy when I was there, and about 5-10 mins after my tabled ordered a man (maybe the manager... owner perhaps?) came to our table unexpectedly to apologize for the wait. He wanted to give us a heads up that the kitchen was a little behind, and it was going to be about 15 mins. Then he said he wanted to top of our drinks free of charge because of the backup (15 mins didn't seem like a very long wait to me, but I took the top up of course!) It was such a kind gesture that reflected quality customer service and professionalism. I 100% recommend Dirty Laundry Vineyard to anyone who comes through the Okanagan! Enjoy!!

Dear 655kylam,
Thank you for finally coming to visit us! We appreciate you taking the time to write such a lovely review.
DLV does have great wine, beer and pizza to enjoy on a stunningly beautiful patio but not much of that matters
it you do not give excellent customer service. We pride ourselves on our customer service so thank you!
We look forward to seeing you again!

Everything was fine while we did the wine tasting and paid for 3 bottles of wine but once we sat on the table, ordered pizza and some beer, we have been told we have only 45 minutes to enjoy our dinner... We have been rushed to leave because of some kind of event... A lady came again to remind us that we will need to leave... We felt we should have been told about the event before entering and paying for the wine testing, wine bottles, and pizza. We didn't feel welcome at all! It was very disappointing experience and bad customer service!

Gorgeous place with stunning views, great wine, great pizza, such a lovely setting! Not sure what it's like not during covid but right now they have it set up really well! We had such a lovely rose and such good pizza. Our kids were with us so we didn't have long but it was all really really quick and they did a great kids pizza. We went at 6 after the tastings are over but it meant the restaurant was really quiet and we still could drink and buy wine! Great majestic setting and great wine.

This is pretty much a class act. The location is great and their wines are also scrumptious. The large patio is wonderful with latticework above from which one can see fabulous grapes extending down. The Pizza is tasty and it’s BIGl surprisingly, their is also a full bar and beer is available.

Visited this winery during our trip to the Okanagan. Last time we were here (2016), this winery was a favourite and we had great memories of the wine and the experience. Not so much this time. We were greeted by a teenager with a dog on a leash, who told us we had to purchase tickets from the booth for a tasting. Ok, did that, then we walked through a confusing entrance to the wine tasting room, where there are more young people attending. One had a brief discussion with the other about how her shift had ended and could she take our tasting. Very unprofessional. We tasted 5 wines, but the girl was not knowledgeable about any of them. Once the tasting was finished, we were told all wines are self serve, but no help given to find the ones we liked. When we do tastings, I always buy at least 2 bottles at that winery. This whole experience felt very commercialized, catering to large parties who just want to drink at the “former brothel”. Left a very unpleasant taste and we will not return. We travel a lot and have done wine tastings and tours in BC - there are so many fine wineries in the Okanagan, many of them independent, that offer a much more personalized and informative experience. Skip this one if you are truly a fan of good wine.

Thank you for taking the time to visit and write a review. The winery is certainly as busy as it was when you visited in 2016. There have been changes to our set up and process which enables us to efficiently host our guests. The young people that we employ are an integral part of our team, yes they even help guests with pets on occasion since we cannot allow pets on the patio or in the wine shop. We hope that one day you will try some of the award winning wines in our portfolio.

My husband and I enjoyed another great week of patio visits at Dirty Laundry mid-August. Why do we and many others keep coming back? The wine, fabulous wood fired artisan pizza, spectacular views, and Tuscan like ambience of course, but more than these it’s the wonderful team led by owner Hermann Teichmeister. There is no request too small and no detail not paid immediate attention to by the staff. Smiles and a willingness to do anything for guests are in abundance, and diligent tracing and social distancing are observed for guest and employee safety. We especially love the family friendly vibe. Couples, parents and kids, and grandparents; all are welcome. For those who are not wine drinkers there is terrific brewpub beer, specialty coffees, premium non-alcoholic beverages, and yummy gelato. In our 40 years of vacationing in the Okanagan we’ve yet to find a winery patio that comes anywhere close to DL’s vibe. If you’ve not experienced it, treat yourself. You won’t be disappointed and will find yourself returning over and over.
Thank you once again Hermann and team. In the midst of a pandemic you folks offered an oasis of safety, hospitality and comfort, and helped us to feel normal again. See you in 2021!

My wife and I had a European river cruise booked for July that was cancelled because of Covid so we booked eight days at our favourite Kelowna B&B as a made in Canada alternative 😆. Four trips to DL for wine and lunch filled those eight days. Hermann and his staff were INCREDIBLE. The patio and wine shop were operated with proper social distancing and tracing. We always felt safe. The service was exceptional. Staff are trained to pay attention to the guest and to detail in ways you simply do not see elsewhere. Despite the pandemic the vibe was relaxed, casual, and fun. Singles, couples, young, old, families, ALL are welcomed at DL. Don’t like wine? They have excellent craft beer including a Kolch that rivals what you get in Cologne. Have little ones? The gelato is excellent. In our opinion their patio is the best in the Okanagan. Once you go you’ll know why. A terrific experience!

There was no dress code for the wine tastings we took, if you plan to dine at one of the on-site restaurants they may have a dress code but you would have to check their sites to confirm.

Can I walk to the start of the trip if I am in downtown Summerland?
Written July 17, 2016
Definitely catch a cab if your not doing the wine tour route. It's up hill and a hot hot walk without pedestrian friendly roadways.
