This was a perfectly planned excursion that made my trip fantastic. We were picked up promptly by Ernesto from our air bnb in Havana, and he entertained us during the ride with pleasant conversation about Cuba. Dior, our tour guide, was incredible. His positivity and knowledge was so appreciated, since he brought us to so much great stops and activities. He also did all of this while injured, though he refused to let it compromise our trip at all. Dior was so kind, fun, and helpful the whole day, and the farmers we met were too. This was probably the best thing I did in Cuba.

We loved our overnight trip to Vinales. We were picked up on time in Havana by our driver Alberto (hope I spelled your name correct), a very nice young man who was very polite, he drove us in his taxi to pick up our guide Eduardo and the adventures began; Indian cave, local lunch, cigar farm, and hike to paintings. Our tour was informative, fun and beautiful. Our day went exactly as outlined when we booked it, what we really enjoyed was getting to know our guide and driver over lunch, we felt they were truly interested in us as people and not just tourists. We saw so many beautiful areas and truly enjoyed our hike in the farm land before the paintings, Eduardo pointed out so many fruit trees, flowers and plants I can't remeber them all. Lastly out casa was amazing. We were nervous having never had that experience before, but our host made us feel right at home. We loved our little home away from home for night, the view was spectacular and the town centre with restaurants a short walk away. The town at night is amazingly quiet, and the morning is alive with roosters calling. In the morning our driver was punctual and drove us back to Havana. We loved our trip and would recommend this to anyone. We learned so much and truly are grateful to our driver, guide and host. Thank you

Where to start !

Definitely book this tour , 10/10 experience of a lifetime!
We booked the ‘Two Overnight Vinales #1 (PRIVATE)’ including transport from Havana.
Transport each way was relaxing, and we had to most amazing tour guide ‘Elier’. Such a cracking character , speaks very good English which was great for us !

We enjoyed every part of the tour from exploring the cave, horse riding, tobacco farm tour, incredible farm lunches, the prehistoric wall, and the views from our hike were incredible ! At the end of each day we’d be dropped off at our casa which is included in this tour at the sweetest ladies house ! Tits was very accommodating and made us a lovely breakfast each morning and although didn’t speak English u feet sold when we needed help with something like WiFi !

This trip is 100% percent worth the money it’s like nothing I’ve experienced for, it’s great to have a tour from a Cuban person who grew up in Vinales and knows everything about it and has so much passion for the location !

It’s also nice being on a tour knowing that you’re supporting the Cuban people when you dine at the farm and eat their food , and do their tours knowing how much they all really appreciate it in the current climate they are in !

Thank you so much for the incredible experience and the great company during the whole trip , we have memories to last a lifetime and I really hope the tourists start to pick-up again to get you all back on your feet !

Ellie & Jonathan !

We really enjoyed our private tour with Yaniel; he sent the driver to pick us up in Havana and showed us around the Valley of Viñales, the Cueva del Indio, a tobacco plantation with a coco loco and cigar included in the price to get the full Cuban experience plus a really great meal at a local paladar - where I can honestly say we got some of the best food we had in Cuba.
We stayed overnight in a casa particular, which he also took care of and where we got to enjoy the sunset and sunrise from the roof of the house.
He gave us a lot of details about the region and about the current situation in the country, how people manage to get by and how they found ways to help themselves.

We went on this tour from Havana as a group of friends. It was an amazing tour and a real privilege to travel through one of Cuba's gems.

This tour was really enlightening and bespoke.

We were picked up in a classic American car by Rene our driver for the day. Rene was very accommodating, for the drive between Havana and Vinales he cruised along with some traditional Cuban music which added to the experience.

When we finally reached Vinales, we were blown away at the magnificent view that immersed us as soon as we left the vehicle.

We met Yaniel who was to be our guide for the day. Yaniel was fluent in English and very engaging he brought the experience to life as we traveled through the valley.

The trip included the view point which is where we started from, and then onto a cave where we walked through to travel by boat to the other side.

The next part of the tour was probably the best experience I have ever had, and we were very humbled by what we were going through. Yaniel and Rene drove us to what looked like an old country track in the Vinales valley surrounded by farmland under a Cuban sky, its here we were met by an old farmer, and this is where our adventure began.

We traveled about a 1 km or so through a country track on a cart pulled by bison in tropical heat admiring the valley. When we got to the end of the track we were greeted by a friendly family of farmers who showed us their tobacco crop, and how they made cigars by hand rolling. Unlike other tours of a similar nature this felt personable as we were the only visitors. The family were lovely and they laid on a very fresh and nice spread of different foods that were straight from the farm and the quality was some of the best food we had tasted, Fresh pineapple, a Cuban broth of beans, fresh cucumber which in Britain doesn't exist and more.

We tried some home brewed Cuban coffee which accompanied a beautiful cigar, which might I add was the freshest and most appetizing cigar we had ever had, so much so we actually purchased some to take back. All was in the view of rolling hills and beautiful countryside.

The farmer who demonstrated how he made the cigars was a funny bloke and we gestured with him with the aid of our guide who translated for us.

We stayed at the farm for a few hours, and we didn't really want to leave.

We rode back down the country lane to our car and then visited a tobacco factory which was very educational. We ended our trip at a botanical garden.

Yaniel was a fantastic guide, the overall experience from the get go was well organised, Yaniel and Geidi communicated via email on specifics and money was exchanged on the day rather than in advance.

If you go to Cuba this is a must do.

We saw some amazing sites and met some friendly genuine people on our travels through Cuba, but none more humbling and honest as the ones we en counted in Vinales.

This trip is well worth it, and it we could go back in time, we would have purchased even more of those wonderful cigars!

Thanks Yaniel, we will always remember it.

We spent a fun filled day in Vinales and would absolutely recommend it to anyone.

A car picked us up at 7am in Havana and drove us to a beautiful overlook where we met our guide, Dior, who spoke excellent English. We spent the day with him and our driver as we progressed through a well choreographed experience including a horseback ride, zip line adventure, guided walk, viewing a huge mural, underground cave, and tobacco farm. Our driver then took us back to Havana, delivering us right to our doorstep. We saw a beautiful part of Cuba and learned a ton about the Cuban people.

It was worth the money, no question. When you book, ask for Dior!

For people who love doing private tours with their own guide and car, this is a very good decision. We planned the tour already from Germany and the Communication with the agents was easy.
Our very nice driver Liuber picked us up punctual at 7 am at the Hotel in Havanna and took us with his nice Mercedes to Vinales safe and sound. Our great guide Emiliano awaited us there and took us to the tour. And the tour was awesome!
We started with the horseback ride, afterwards the Zipline, then the small hike through the fields (totally Alone, it was Magic in this scenery) to the big painting. Lunch was next and one of my highlights! A huge Meal with regional products. After this we went to the cave-River-boat-Trip and concluded with a Visit of a cigar Plantage and production.
Emiliano was always there for us and our questions and wishes, he knew like secret spots and very much people there, which Made you feel welcomed everywhere. He also had loads of information to the valley and its history and inhabitants.
I would totally recommend the tour to everyone, because The Valley of Vinales is simply unique.

We spent 2 nights at a homestay in Vinales, which is a peaceful and colorful little town, located in the UNESCO World Heritage-listed wonderful Vinales Valley, surrounded by mountains of spectacular rocky outcrops.
We found that home-stay is the best way to see how local live, learn about their traditions, lifestyle and food. Local people were very friendly!!!
We were amazed by the breathtaking landscapes of mogotes who contrast with the red of the earth and the blue sky! and tobacco plantations, with traditional tobacco cultures and harvets ! We saw that cultures and harvests were traditional, without tractors or mechanization since all the cultivation of the land is always done with animals.
We were lucky to visit a tabacco plantation, where we saw handmade cigar making!
Altogether, Vinales valley is fantastic and is an essential stopover on any trip to Cuba!!!

This was by far the best trip my wife and I have ever been on. From the start, our driver Francisco, was extremely nice and taught us some Spanish and showed us lots of interesting points of interest along the way to each destination. Eduardo, our tour guide, was one of the funniest/coolest people we've ever met. The best part was he spoke great English which allowed us to communicate in Spanish even better. If we had known how fun this trip would have been beforehand, we would have been fine paying double the price. 100% recommend anyone that speaks English (or anyone really) that you send them to Eduardo. He also set us up in a casa particular with a very sweet woman named Tita. They all went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of- including communicating and allowing us to change our trip last minute to head to Varadero instead of Havana.

Everyone involved has made Discover Vinales #1 in my book and will recommend these people specifically for any friends we have that want to visit the beautiful country of Cuba. We have pictures and will remember everyone for our lifetime.

We were lucky enough to have two tours with Discovery Vinales: We enjoyed the "Three Valleys" hike with Eliere, an engaging, passionate guide and a talented musician, and the "The Secrets of the Cigar" with Eddie. In addition, these folks can arrange ANY need you may have - all you have to is ask! For instance, we were interested in a trip to Cayo Levisa, before we knew what happened, Eliere had arranged all the details at a great rate!
Hiking with Eliere is truly an adventure in discovery: the local folks we met on the trail ranged from a retired farmer who had amassed an incredible collection of fossils on his property to the Compesino who allowed me to plow with his Oxen (you try and furrow a straight line!), showed us how to roll cigars, and shared the Cuban love of country life.
The following day we toured the Vuelta Abajo, the city of Pinar Del Rio, stripper houses, Vegas Robaina, and many other cigar related experiences with Eddie, the Discovery Vinales Cigar Expert. Unlike the cigar related tours in Havana performed by uninspired government employees, Eddie loves and lives the cigar life: rum, cockfighting and the love of cigar production evolved from constant exploration and engagement in this area's lifeblood.
My wife and I travel the world in search of authentic connection with the places and people we visit. We want to understand the life and times of other cultures, people and places. No where have we found a more deeply personal and moving connection than with the folks of Discovery Vinales.
