I'd rather bathe in vinegar than return

Rhyl is a complete hellhole infested with Manc and Scouse chavs. Expect to see gangs of teenage ASBOs wandering the streets shouting and screaming. Concrete abominations have destroyed any character the beach may have had.

I started and finished walks along the Wales Coast Path in Rhyl due to the convenience of local buses/trains. I couldn't get out of the place fast enough.

Visited Rhyl got a walk on the beach with our fur babies. Pleasantly surprised by the well kept beach and promenade. It was such a lovely time and reminded me of my childhood

Definitely better than expectations!

We were literally using this as a one night stop in our motorhome on our way back up North.
There is a great car park right by the promenade directly behind the Marsden pub which is large, flat and totally free day and night.
It's in a lovely position and was nice and quiet.
There were 7 motorhomes there the night we stopped and I'd happily stay there again!

the seafront is very pleasant with a sandy beach and a wide promenade. There are a variety of entertainments available and places to eat and drink.

Fantastic huge beach

Mike's of wide beach and perfect sand. I ran for 4km along the beach and only saw part of it. Wide beach all the way from Prestatyn to the river Clwyd. So spacious and very few people. Promenade is also wide and long, but note that it is currently closed from the Travelodge to Prestatyn golf course, but you can still walk on the beach.

Large sandy beach
Jul 2021
A long, beautifully sandy beach, perfect for children and lazy days out.
The tide does go out a long way and comes in quick so you have to be careful but the lifeguards do give you warning when the tide turns.
We went after a week of hot weather and the water was lovely and warm when we went in and the coast has a gentle slope so it doesn't get deep too quickly.
There are a lot of places to get food and drink but nowhere to sit and wash/dry your feet when you come off the beach.
There are plenty of places near the beach to park £3 for 4 hours or £4.50 all day and parking is free after 17.00.

Not worth your time or money

Not the best beach but has a very long shore line. We spent a sunny evening on the beach which was okay. Lots of rubbish left around and wasn't very clean.

I'm not too sure about the people. My niece went to put something in the bin at the beach and this man with his 2 kids was close by and told her to F off. He was even encouraging his kids to say it to her... She is only 12. She's 12 for goodness sake! He was looking for a fight and continued to look at where we were sitting for a long time before he left.

That just upset us all and we decided to leave as soon as possible.

It's full of chavs and I would not visit that beach or this town ever again.

Very busy non covid secure

A very busy beach overrun with kids unsupervised and dropping litter as they go.
Families making camp on the beach and not clearing up after themselves is disappointing but not unexpected in these times.

I was shocked how run down Rhyl was. Work has already started, can't wait to see it complete. The beach was lovely and a lovely walk
