    Beach day in Rhyl
Lovely clean beach, I was very surprised. The downside is the lack of public toilets, how are they expecting people to stay any length of time with no toilets? Also the shopping area is terrible, a few little artisan shops would pick the place up. Saying that a lot of investment has gone into the front and it shows, the nature reserve walk is lovely.

Lovely family day out........give it a chance!
After hearing historic bad reports about Rhyl we were a little apprehensive about what it was going to be like but as it was only a little over a hour away from our hometown and with a good forecast we though it was worth a punt. On arriving the long stay car park was in an excellent location right by the beach, aquarium and funfair and was only £4.50 for the whole day! We nipped to the high street for some lunch and to equip ourselves with the mandatory bucket and spade and headed to the beach. The beach was lovely and sandy, not too busy but plenty of other families were sunning themselves and enjoying their day. The water was also surprisingly warm so we had a dip and stayed for about 3 hours. I was curious as to why the bad press and read reviews and reports that it was regenerated a few years back and it's obviously made a difference! Give it a chance, we don't think you will regret it!

    Day out along the coast
Many a day out was spent here as a child. The beach is clean miles of sand and apart from the many turbines in the distance it’s a fantastic place for a stop over. The town itself is a shadow of its former life and it’s heartbreaking to see it on its knees. This town like many others were hit hard before covid and after they are really up against it.

    Confusing parking
The tide was out so it was quite a stroll to the sea. Bad timing on our part. Our stay was kind of ruined by the parking. We parked near the travelodge and it was very difficult to work out what spaces you had to pay for and where you get the ticket. It was inside the pub. I was not sure if they would count the 10 minutes it took us to be sure we were in a legitimate space and find the ticket machine. We were going to get something to eat at the pub but left because I was not sure we had enough time.

    Re living memories
I have many fond memories of coming here with my parents and grandparents. Visiting my aunty that lived in the town and many many happy days just playing on the beach. There are many things missing like the rows of guest houses on the sea front, and very few of the old arcades are still around. Still great to see so many families with kids on a day out. I will always love this place and never get bored of walking along the sea wall on on the beach

What a dump . Buildings with rubbish dumped outside , flaking paint work everywhere, playground with broken bottles hidden in the sand , overflowing bins , people drinking cheap cider on the dirty seafront at 9am ! , food venues I wouldn't risk eating from , bleak , poorly maintained, dirty , only good point is theres plenty of places to park probably because nobody stays more than 20 mins. Even the fun fair looks like a prison camp with its steel fencing with faded paintwork. Avoid at all costs

Visited here with the kids whilst in North Wales. What a beautiful beach!! The sand is gorgeous, clean with plenty of pebbles and shells. Could keep kids entertained for ages. We could have stayed all day even in the rain but it started raining heavy. Loved the beach shops and the souvenir shop. Lovely places to buy freshly made doughnuts, coffee. The souvenir shop was the only place I found some Welsh magnets, seaside rock and fudge. There were arcades and amusements along the promenade as well. We've been to Colwyn Bay Beach but thought Rhyl was better.

We visited as a couple of adults on a Sunday afternoon and enjoyed a lovely seafront walk at Rhyl. There is a huge beach area and the sand looked great. There are traditional amusements, cafes and fish & chip stalls. We visited the Seaquarium. Yes, there are some run-down parts to the town, but there are equally some lovely new developments eg the Pavilion theatre and SC2 water park, both of which had modern cafe bars attached. We were impressed that there are lots of signs of regeneration here and will revisit in a few more years to see what else has been developed. Well worth a visit.

We thought this might be a nostalgic day out, with all the thrills a seaside town has to offer. We were very wrong.
What a shame, the council are obviously trying to do something with the town and beach. There is a new theatre and leisure centre on the seafront and the promenade is beautifully paved.
Unfortunately thats where it ends.
There is obviously a very bad drug problem in the town, with people openly injecting drugs as you walk by.
Avoid!

Rhyl is a complete hellhole infested with Manc and Scouse chavs. Expect to see gangs of teenage ASBOs wandering the streets shouting and screaming. Concrete abominations have destroyed any character the beach may have had.

I started and finished walks along the Wales Coast Path in Rhyl due to the convenience of local buses/trains. I couldn't get out of the place fast enough.

Can't walk my dog between 6am - 8am at the beach, because car parking signs everywhere not allowing campervan motorhomes to park between 11pm - 8am.
I'm sure this be against my human rights that I'm being signalled out because of the vehicle I use to transport my dog in!!

I won't be back & won't be spending money in the area or recommending people to visit.

We were literally using this as a one night stop in our motorhome on our way back up North.
There is a great car park right by the promenade directly behind the Marsden pub which is large, flat and totally free day and night.
It's in a lovely position and was nice and quiet.
There were 7 motorhomes there the night we stopped and I'd happily stay there again!

Beware of tides!! The sea comes in quickly especially around the full moon. Lifeguard present moving people up to safety.
As beaches go its not Bournemouth or St ives but for families with small children who would like to fly a kite or dig in the sand it's OK.
A long stretch ofclesnsamd but the sea was along way out. It came in very sudden. Be careful.
Car park is quite expensive and hardtop find the machine.
