Love this beach but the early season is marred by people driving up and down the beach at speeds that are just not appropriate. Today my kids were passed by a large Mitsubishi pick up style truck at pace with only about 15ft clearance covering them both in water as it passed...too fast to get a plate number. Car access... I have been wanting to come here for a while now. I finally made the decision to go! Best decision I have ever made! I love the fact you can drive on the beach. I parked further down from the entrance, it was quieter. I spent a few hours just lazing around in the sun.. Yes! Sun in March.. it... More

Massive beach and loved the fact you could drive your car straight onto it... there is a big gate which closes later in the evening stopping cars from going on it so just make sure you find out the closing time when you first get there. Love to come here everytime I'm in the area. Local shops within distance... its... More

Really enjoyable trip. We have only really been when windy and in the winter. Put your wellies on and water proofs and just enjoy splashing in the water and letting the dog have a good run. An hour or so at this time of year is enough, although I suspect in the summer you would have to drag me away!!!... More

Fab walk back to Porthmadog from Cricieth. We also parked our cars on the beach. Pure flat cream sand.

This stunning beach is one of the very few drive on beaches left. To be able to park up (recommended near the dunes) and either relax in a lounger with a book or take a beautiful stroll down the waterfront is a great way to spend an afternoon. The police have increased their presence in the last couple of years... More

Black Rock Sands is a lovely beach with 2 miles of golden sand. Even in popular times there always plenty of room for everyone. Nice clean beach with very little litter. Vehicles are allowed so great for people with mobility problems or families who bring the kitchen sink! Stunning views all round. Runs along side the popular Green acres site.
