Wonderful well displayed museum
Sep 2021 • Solo
Visited here on my own after a long walk around the beautiful village and lunch with my husband who decided to sit outside as he was tired, but what a gem he missed! Well thought out displays, lots of things of interest, a couple of things I remembered my mother using when I was a child. All tastefully laid out without too much accompanying text to distract. Upstairs a WW2 history area relating to the village. Fascinating and highly recommend. Friendly knowledgeable volunteers too.

Amazing lovely things
Nov 2019
I was very pleased to have come across this museum by of chance, once inside, it was amazing to see things that was once done used in the past, many many years ago. New things don't last like the good old things in the good old days.

Lovely people who can share great stories

Friendly, welcoming staff there to host and add detail to the different areas of the museum. They make it a 5 rating over a 4. We learnt a lot about Shere, and will go back next time with more questions. Thanks

Quaint hotch-potch from village residents
Apr 2019 • Friends
This is a small local museum over 2 floors. We were greeted by a lovely, terribly earnest volunteer keen to tell us the history of the village and her own journey there.

It’s got a wide-ranging collection, mostly from donated by residents of this idyllic village. Domestic goods, children’s toys, farming equipment and things from the local Women’s Institute (I think) downstairs. Upstairs features some stories from the two world wars, including the story of one of the infamous Dambusters, who was a local lad.

Free to visit, but I was happy to pop a £1 suggested donation in the box. Worth a quick look around.

A rainy day visit
Mar 2019 • Couples
Entrance is free to get in but there is a collection box where most people drop a couple of pounds. The museum is very small and has a few artifacts. The lights went out when we arrived so did not get to explore all of it but you could spend an interesting hour looking around.

A proper village museum
Sep 2018 • Solo
This two floor museum in the heart of the village is well laid out and has many displays of local trades and interests. The Suffragettes, the Great War, local mills, the Bray family and the Dambusters all feature amongst many other displays about life in the area through the years. A pleasant place to spend some time.
