About
Skirlington Market & Car Boot was founded in 1986. Today, the busy and thriving attraction is still enjoyed by thousands of visitors every Sunday. The Indoor Market has been fully refurbished in 2019 with a new cafe, farmshop, brand new stalls & a licence bar: so you can visit Skirlington whatever the weather. The outdoor market also has a fantastic range of traders, rides and inflatables for the kids and an excellent range of food outlets. You can even get a delicious Sunday Lunch. The Car Boot site is adjacent to the market; just a short walk past our pond. Here you can attend as a seller (simply arrive between 6-9am, there's no need to book a place) or browse for a bargain. There are toilets at both areas and we have disabled facilities. We also host special events throughout the year. The finale to the year being our Christmas Event which is held the first Sunday in December. Skirlington is a great day out on the East Yorkshire Coast for all the family. We hope you can join us.

Enjoyed spending a couple of hours here, we arrived around 11.30am though and people were packing up and leaving already even though it was on till 3.

Kids were hoping for a few rides but none, would defo make it a bit better.

Normal car boot sale, lots of tats but some great wee finds as well!

Would hate to be in the inside bit if it was busy as its quite narrow but everyone was wearing masks.

You do have to pay when u get in, buts its only like 30p or something.

Great carboot. We came for a mosey and a bargain on our way to have a day out in Bridlington and had a great few hours exploring the stands.

Not worth the time!

I did wonder, as I left what all the "fuss" was about. Whilst alot of this is outdoors (which would not be suitable in damp weather or rain), there isnt much here. A cafe area or 2, the usual "loud butcher" selling direct at discount prices but there are much better markets elsewhere. This isnt anywhere near the top of that list. The Sunday car boot sale is full of "cast offs" or "tat" if you would prefer. When you go inside (during Covid 19) you are obliged to wear a face covering - although there seems to be only 1 entrance with someone making sure you do, so it is open to personal interpretation - given that you are in Yorkshire, dont expect too many locals to think wearing a mask applies to them - it certainly doesnt! Sundays are very much "shoulder to shoulder" If this is how "thousands" spend their Sundays these days, to be honest, they can keep it - the experience isnt, for me, one I would repeat week in week out.

Average but worth a visit if you're interested in car boot sales
Aug 2020
A fairly average market, selling nothing really of any note. You could spend hours wondering around both the car boot sales (30p entry) and the market it self. Unless you're an avid market gower you may be disappointed, but you never know till you have a look. Dog friendly.

All good

Think we probably arrived a bit early 06:30 as most of the car boots were still unloading. I’d say it worth leaving it until 08:00 before arriving. Not as big, or as well organised as lebberston but a decent mid-large sized car boot sale. Didn’t check out the market.

Car boot
Jul 2020 • Family
Very large car boot on Sunday but won’t go round the market. Far too busy with no social distancing. The car boot was great as things were spread out and went early to avoid the crowds. Took my young grandson who loved the healer skelter. First time on it. We were parked in the field where there is a lake . Very nice
