You can pass through this gate on the way down from the upper part of town to the sea. View is beautiful.

St.Mary Gate is the entrance to the old town and one of those charming medieval corners that make Hondarribia so authentic. Very photogenic spot.

Gate is located along the old city wall. Definitely worth the walk from the Marina area to the gate.

This pretty gate is very good for making pictures but also when you go through it you get interesting views over the bay and Hendaye on the French side

This entrance into the historic center is like hundreds of other gates one sees traveling around Europe. If there is something unique about this one, I missed it. It's still worth a short stop to look at and discuss the sculpture of the man carrying a saw. Must be a story behind it too.

I don´t know, what I can write over a gate and why I should review it. But if you are in the city you should walk through the gate. It is nice and old. We have stayed two nights in the Parador located nearby. Try to visit it or better sleep one night in this place full of history. The cafeteria is open without hotel reservation.

Im not big into historical architecture, but a nice place to visit along the old walls. There was some lovely seating not far away to sit and enjoy the peace and tranquility.

One of the entrances to the old town, but not especially noteworthy or pretty. The walls are here, but the best part is to wander and see the small old town with its charming houses.

We parked in a lot just below this gate and then entered the town by walking through it. Approaching the gate afforded some wonderful photo ops as the gate is pretty striking.

St Mary Gate is part of the largely intact old defensive wall that surrounds the old part of Hondarribia, and is now probably the main gate into the charming old town. Best viewed as part of a stroll round the walls and the old town, which isn’t a large area - but utterly charming.
