These largely intact walls go round the historic old part of Hondarribia. They are only a short stroll from Valle San Pedro and are best viewed from inside the old town, which is a delightful area. At various parts of the wall you get great views over the town and harbour area.

I cannot recall seeing many other European old walled cities that have such an intact span of the perimeter and believe that the amount of work committed to preserving the thick and tall stone fortification has to be immense. Walking along the massive defensive structure and with little effort I easily envisioned the city’s inhabitants from centuries ago feeling well protected from potential invaders.

This protection ring around the old town of Hondaribbia is very steep and still mostly inntact. A small bridge for pedestrians leads into the historic center.

A nice walk offering impressive views inland & across on the other side of the airport and the river with France beyond. A small passenger ferry runs back & forth.

Much like other walls in many cities. Very tall and in remarkably good condition. They don't take long to see and can be viewed while walking around the historic district.

Part of the charm of the Wall of Hondarribia is the fact it is inside a fortified wall. You can spend your evenings eating tapas and walking in and outside the wall.

There were so many tucked in spaces where a picnic would have been most excellent. Try to wander inside and out side the walls to take it all in -- also good at night.

Whilst visiting Hondarribia, you can not ignore the great wall that surrounds the historic town. You are able to climb certain parts of the wall and take advantage of the beautiful views of the mountain's and the historic town. I'm not sure how the long the wall goes on for, but its worth checking out.

La Muralla is the wall, which surrounded the old town of Hondarribia and it is very beautiful. Inside here you can see some fantastic and historical places like Mayor Street, Plaza de las Armas (Weapons square in English) or the door of Sta. Maria. Moreover, a walk around the old town is very relaxing and interesting. I recommend you to enter to the old town in the Door of Sta. Maria, after go to the Plaza de las Armas, from where you can see fantastic views of the sea and the port of Hondarribia. I also recommend to go to the Parador (a hotel) and enjoy the restaurant or the bar with a cup of wine. Other thing you can do is walk around the wall of the old town. Moreover, it is very beautiful follow the wall and surround the all old town.
