Very good outlet. A bit costly to get to as it is a long way out of Lisbon. There is a shuttle but from central Lisbon but it didn’t show up so we shared a cab with another couple. €40.00. Uber on way back was €20.00. Good restaurants too.

Crossing Vasco de Gama bridge was the most interresting part of this trip. If you like shopping it worth the trouble. Take the free shutle from Lisbon 10am, return 13:30 or 18:30.

There are quite many outlet stores to see and shop, but not as many as I first expected.
If one will come here by public transportation, I'd advise to take the #431 bus from Oriente bus terminus (outside Oriente metro station) but it runs mostly only every hourly, so it's a little inconvenient.
I'm attaching two photos: a photo of the #431 bus schedule that I took at the Freeport Outlet Mall bus stop. Hope it helps anyone who is going to visit there soon; another photo is a list of the outlet stores at the Mall (as shown on the huge board of Directory at the entrance of the Mall).
The bus I took was the 12:45pm one and it's only about 20 minutes from Oriente to the Outlet. The bus crosses the grand Vasco da Gama Bridge and views on both sides of the bridge are gorgeous!

At the Timberland outlet store, we were assisted by a shop assistant, Ariana, who was unfriendly, had extremely little initiative and did not seem to know anything about assisting foreign tourists. She packed our items very slowly, did not know the tax refund %, and worst of all, did not even offer us any information on tax refund nor provided us with the tax refund form. In the end, we found out that that form was mandatory but had no time to make the refund. We lost up to 15% which could have been refunded and just had a very disappointing experience. We had even purchased 2 items from them and that came up to more than 300euros… If you ever visit, please be aware and ask what you need to because you will not get any help from this assistant!!

Dear Miyoohere, we regret that we were not able to meet your expectations. The satisfaction of our customers is paramount and your feedback is very important to help us improve. We inform you that we will pass your comment to the team that follows up with the stores in order to make the store aware of the situation you report. The concern in welcoming those who visit us continues to be one of the key points of our performance so we hope to be able to count on your confidence and future visits. Thank you.

The newly renovated site is very pleasant and there is plenty shops around, they have nice restaurants and coffee shops, the site are very clean and you can get an extra 10% discount code from customer services.
BUT THEY HAVE THE STAFF AT HUGO BOSS!!! If you like me like Hugo boss clothes, than you will probably want to avoid this one there. I went there with my sister (23/03/19)and saw a jeans that i really like (inclusive I was wearing a similar one), the price was very good and I didn't hesitate in get one, the girl saw me with the jeans in my hand and very prompt come around and collected from me and put at the cashier desk, I haven't found anything else that I wanted. I went to pay and handed my debit card to her, took quite some time and she told me the wifi system at freeport was really bad and was always like that!! I offered to cancel the transaction and go and withdraw money (I really wanted the jeans), she said no is not necessary and went outside of the shop with my card and the machine (I didn't like it but kept my eyes on her), she come back with my card in one hand and the machine in other and told me the transaction has not been through! I believed her and again offered to go and get some cash to pay for the jeans, she was still holding my card and telling me how bad redunicre and freeport was there....and tried again my card , the message come saying was decline because a had already made a payment with the same value at the same shop!! I said to her probably the payment have been through? she say NO did not I don't have the receipt! I decided to check my statement on online banking just to be sure, and voila!! the payment was taken from my account exact amount and with name and address of the shop, showed to her but she said unfortunately I can't help you as I do not have a receipt, her work colleague come to state the same and told me to contact my bank, I did and the assistant told me the payment went through and could only be cancel by the Hugo boss shop! passed the phone t the staff and that is what my bank explained to them. They had none of it and started to treat me like I was trying to steal the jeans, told me to leave and come back with proof from the bank that I have paid. I asked to speak to the manager. The deputy manager come around (manager was on leave), and he was extremely rude and told me to go to my bank and come back during the week, I asked him ca I send you the proof from my app that I have paid and take the trousers? Or can you give me a refund He said NO you have not paid anything, I got really frustrated and stressed and my sister was the one trying to reason with the staff, I couldn't do anymore, a customer approached to pay some goods and I turned around and said, be careful the machine is not working properly , yu may better pay by cash" the manager nearly physically hit me, and told me to shut up or he would call security to throw me out. I give up at that point and my sister requested him his card and a note stating that they have not taken payment and if they did they would refund me, she offer our contact number but he declined, stating he would not need to contact us as payment wasn't been made. Left Freeport and promise never to come back, I was horrified, not even went to the other shops this time. SORRY THE SAGA CONTINUES
25/03 contacted my bank manager because my card was blocked all weekend and because no refund and HB payment was still showing, he advised me to contacted the shop and see what to do to get the refund! I contacted the shop (very reluctantly), but luckily a girl answered the phone and she was very nice and very apologetic, she told me that soon I left they managed to retrieve the receipt , but they did not had my contact!! the manage tried to undo the transaction but without my card was impossible, the only way was me going back there collect the cash or the Manager (who was coming back wednesday) authorize it, I explained to her that I wasn't prepared to go back there because the way they treated us was very bad and I told her please have my number and give to the manager so he can contact me, and also please ask him to refund the money back to my account. Friday after lunch we were in Lisbon, and no response and no refund, my husband told me lets go there and see what is going on, the manager will be there and surely he will apologise and explain. We got there and I ask to speak to the manager, he come around and he knew who I was! he was very aggressive and told me your refund has been made and is on you bank account! I tried to explain that was not! he said you have to wait!! I told him I found really unpleasant and disrespectful the way I was treated there, and the way my situation was handled! The manager nearly hit me! My husband told me, love give over get the complains book, make a formal complaint and lets go, the behaviour come from the top, nothing you can do it! when I asked for the complains book he threatened to write on the bottom that I was on the wrong,He gave my copy to send to the Lisbon department requested by Portuguese law, but when I checked the envelop he give had the address in Slovakia!! Thai is why I decided to write my experience her. (PS week ago I contacted Hugo boss to complain, no response either). VERY SAD

Estimada Senhora Rosie V,
Obrigado.

If you like high end brands, this is the place to go to. We loved it & it's very cheap in comparison to american outlets for : Burberry, CH, Escada, Versace, Boss, D&G, Lacoste, Arrow to name the most known. There are also local brandnames that i'm acquainted to such as Ana Sousa that I love. Very interesting place for excellent value for the money.
To get there, you can either rent a car, get a taxi for about 45 euros one way from downtown (Baixa) or get a bus near the main train station (next to the aquarium) for 5 eurs one way. The bus is available every 30 min or so.

This is a large factory outlet mall across the Tagus River from Lisbon. It has all the well known stores that you see in the USA including Gant, Tommy Hillfiger, Ralph Lauren, Lacoste etc. A really large layout but on the day we visited you could have rolled a bowling ball down the walkways as there were so few people about. See the directory of storeshttp://www.freeport.pt/lojas2_en.php
Prices still quite expensive as against US Outlet Malls. Last Thursday of every month, almost all outlets have a sale going on. On this day, prices may be reduced by another 20%. There are a few restaurants which provide some reasonable food Just the sandwiches, snacks, hamburgers, hot/cold drinks etc.
From Lisbon get on the red line (metro/subway) and get off at Oriente and then walk to the main bus stand (Gare do Oriente) and catch bus line 431 (LISBOA-MONTIJO route) The 431 is the most frequent route, which runs every hour, with extra half hour around 5pm.
The return trip costs €6.35/person (April 2015), which is cheaper than the shuttle that starts at Marques Pombal) This offers a return ride for €10 The shuttle has only two trips a day. departing at 10am and returning at 4 pm or 1pm returning at 7pm. The bus via Oriente gives more flexibility if you do not want to stay for 6 hours.
Using the 431 bus ride is spectacular as you will cross the Tagus river on Vasco da Gama bridge (14.2 km, Europe's longest). The journey is about 20 minutes each way back to Oriente.

Large enough outlet, one side high end, the other high street shops. Last seasons clothing but with no huge discounts. We took the 'Free' bus from the city, nothing free about the bus, it costs €10 return and the advertised discount card you received is only valid in a very few shops, none of which we found anything. Personally if I had a few hours to shop in Lisbon this wouldn't be top of my list, I'd take the metro to Luz stop and go to the shopping centre there, much cheaper and quicker to get to, better shopping also. Freeport is Not worth the visit unless you are staying for a few months and have ran out of places to go!

This is a factory outlet (at least it follows the concept), which means factories are directly selling goods to the customer. Because this process allows for avoiding the middleman, items can be sold at much cheaper prices than one would find elsewhere. Freeport has top of the notch brands. Go here to see the directory http://www.freeport.pt/lojas2_en.php
Generally the discounts range from 20% - 80% and it depends on the season. Last Thursday of every month, almost all outlets have a sale going on. On this day, prices may be reduced by another ~20%. If you, however, are a good negotiator, you may be able to get an additional 10% off on other days in some stores. If you are serious about shopping, expect to spend a half-to-full day here because there are a lot of stores. There are a couple of restaurants but do not expect full meals. Just the sandwiches, snacks, hamburghers, hot/cold drinks etc. Getting there is easy. From Lisbon get on the red line (metro/subway) and get down at Oriente and then walk to the main bus stand (Gare do Oriente) and catch bus line 431 (LISBOA-MONTIJO route), 432 (LISBOA - ATALAIA (via Alcochete), or 437 (MONTIJO - LISBOA via S. Francisco). I would stick to 431 because it is the most frequent route, which runs every hour. To see the schedule go here and type Lisboa as the origin and Freeport as the destination: http://www.tsuldotejo.pt/index.php?page=viajar&sub=viajar&categoria=2&subcategoria=&carreira=721&idioma=2
The return trip costs €6.35/person (April 2015), which is cheaper than the shuttle (starts at Marques Pombal) that offers a return ride with a drink for €10/-. The shuttle has a predefined fro-to schdule (only two trips a day) and is not good if you really want to shop. The 431 bus ride is spectacular because you will cross the Tagus river (the longest in Iberia) on Vasco da Gama bridge (14.2 km, Europes longest) - an 8 to 10 minute ride. The entire trip is about 20 minutes each way.

I'm so disappointed at this so-called outlet. Europe's biggest? Who cares if the shops are boring and expensive. The Lacoste shop was the only shop wich was okay. Who needs Mango in a outlet? I wasted half day there! I'm never going again, and wouldn't recommend it to others!

Dear Trail22758553152,
Thank you for sharing your suggestion.
However, we would like to point out that although the buses to which you refer belong to the Public Transport Company - Transportes Sul do Tejo (TST), and are not a centre service, we are collaborating with TST to report this situation. We can confirm you that they have already increased the number of vehicles in service on the busiest days and times, to cause as little inconvenience as possible and make the travel as comfortable as possible for those looking for this transport. Still, we suggest that you address your suggestion directly to TST through their website. Thanks.
Which line gets there? And what is the price? And what are the times for walking and going?
