We enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing trek through the cork forest. Don't go expecting diverse scenery or an abundance of wildlife. This is a simple walk through nature, brought alive by our knowledgeable guide, José. What he doesn't know about the simple cork isn't worth knowing! This was followed by a sampling of their delightful wines. Their 2019 field blend is a stonker. Give the pool or vineyards a break and give this a go.

We enjoyed the peacefulness of walking the land. We really liked our guide, Antonio. He was friendly and answered all our questions. Since we didn't have a rental car, we paid to be picked up in Evora. The scenery is quite beautiful! We also had the optional lunch. It was delicious and the cook came out a few times to ask how we were enjoying our meal. Very personal attention given by all-the women who picked us up, our guide and the restaurant personnel.

Antonio did a great job educating me on how cork grows and is harvested. The old land rover is clean and well maintained. Highly recommend it.

I can't speak highly enough about Jose and his passion for keeping the farm alive for future generations. That lowly cork board or wine stopper will forever look differently to me along with the zillions of other products that can come from this amazing slow grow growing tree. Do yourself a favor and book this tour, you'll learn and see so much from a medieval trench near the cork trees to the new vineyards. If you're in luck you'll see the black pigs that come to graze the area.

Wonderful tour and history given by Jose at an old family farm with cork trees, some over 200 years old, water wells over 400 years old, and grape vines that are young but producing some of the best wine in Portugal. Well worth the money spent. The day was not hot and the tour was just 3 of us and Jose. He is full of knowledge of the area and very helpful in making sure we got there and enjoyed ourselves.
