About
Surrounded by uncontaminated nature in the hills of Chianti, "La Casa di Bricciano" is a small family run organic farm which is becoming distinguished for his high quality wines. Our farm was established in 1992, under the principles of organic farming, fully respecting nature and with a scrupulous attention to the quality of our products. In our beautiful Tuscany, in the heart of Chianti Classico area, we take great care in every stage of the artisanal workmanship from the vineyards, to the wine making in the cellar and then the maturing and refining, in order to offer a limited amount of excellent quality wines. Wines that have received international awards and medals over the years. We produce four red wines: two Supertuscans I.G.T. "Il Ritrovo" (Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot) & "Sangiovese" (98% Sangiovese), plus a "Chianti Classico" and "Chianti Classico Riserva". Our wines are made exclusively from own grapes.

Best afternoon in Tuscany
Aug 2019 • Couples
We drove out to this winery on the recommendation of a local restaurateur. It was the most scenic road showcasing the true splendour of the Tuscan country side to be warmly welcomed by Rory and Paola. It was lovely to hear the history of their farm and see the passion for their wines. They treated us to a relaxing tasting of their outstanding wine with some cheese, prosciutto and bread in their beautiful garden. We enjoyed spending the afternoon with them and appreciated their kind hospitality. We’ll be sure to visit again and see more of the farm when we’re passing through Tuscany in future.

Delicious wine with a view
Jun 2019
This is a tiny organic vineyard in the hills above Giaole in Chianti. Bees hum as the flowers bloom happily between the vines . We were brought to the top of the property (3 hectares) in a 4x4 where, on a film-set like deck, a white cloth appeared on the table and we tasted the four wines produced as we gazed across the rolling hills. One more delicious than the next , these are wines to watch. I can't wait to go back and see what they are up to in the Autumn

Una visita extraordinaria
Apr 2019 • Friends
I went there with 2 friends. I called in the morning to go during the afternoon. When we arrived we were introduced by Paola (the mother) to Rory (the son and the Winemaker). Rory made us see la Cantina (where he makes the wine) and after that he made us a tour of the vineyard with his jeep. We stop on top of the winery where there's a nice table with an incredible view of Chianti. He offered us some cheese and prosciutto with bread and we had a nice degustation of his Chianti and Chianti riserva. That moment was really special!

Thanks for Everything and long live to la Casa di Bricciano!

Property Tour and Wine Tasting
Mar 2019 • Friends
Paola treated our group of 5 friends to a personal tour in her Merc jeep around this family-run property that produces particularly excellent organic wine. Highly recommended. And they do free shipping for certain order sizes too.

Charming Winery with a Magnificent View
Aug 2018 • Couples
Over the years, we have toured many wineries in Tuscany, but none quite as charming as La Casa di Bricciano. After a brief chat with Paola in the small barrel room, we hopped into a jeep with her son Rory (head winemaker) to tour their vineyards just outside of Gaiole.

As we bounced through the rows of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot vines, Rory shared his passion for growing the perfect grape, building the perfect blend and producing the perfect wine. And when we arrived at a lone picnic table perched high atop a hillside to do our wine tasting, we found ourselves in the perfect setting.

Rory takes his winemaking very seriously, and it shows. The Chianti Classico and Reserva were better than most, but the IGT Sangiovese (98%) and Super Tuscan Cabernet-Merlot blend were truly superior, and well-priced. The three cases we shipped home will keep us smiling for a while. We highly recommend stopping at La Casa di Bricciano if you are anywhere near Gaiole.

Great location, great wines
Jul 2018 • Couples
The winery's owner arrange for a fantastic wine tasting above the vineyard on a wooden terrace. The terrace (place is in the shade) offers a fantastic view over the Tuscan hills towards Siena (you can see the towers of the duomo and the palacio in the distance). For evening events (or in the unlikely event of bad weather) there's also a large expedition tent and a fireplace fo barbecues. The wines are fantastic. My favourites are the Chianti Classico Riserva and the Ritrovo.

Must Visit if You Love Wine
Jun 2018 • Couples
We tasted the Chianti Classico from La Casa di Bricciano based on a recommendation at a Florence restaurant in 2017. We loved it! So, when we returned to Tuscany in 2018, I began researching this winery - that is how memorable the wine was! It took some looking, but found a phone number and placed a call to the winery to see if they could give a tour and a tasting. They were delighted to accommodate us. Be sure to call ahead to make a reservation. It is quite a drive up the hill to get to it, but it is most certainly worth it! We had to call half way up the hill to confirm we were going the correct way.

Rory met us outside the winery and we loaded up in his jeep for the tour. He took around his small property showing the vineyard. It is quite evident how much love and labor goes into his winery! It has been certified organic by the EU and he grows his grapes with a lot of manual labor. And the results speak for themselves. He explained the process of growing the grapes and the needs of the 4 different grapes he cultivates. His passion and knowledge is clearly conveyed.

Then he brought us to a covered terrace overlooking his approximately 3 hectares vineyard for the tasting. He put out some meats and bread and, of course, four bottles of the wines he produces. The scenery and the wines were spectacular! The four wines were Chianti Classico, a Riserva, Sangiovese, and a Ritrovo. He explained the various mixes and how he changes the mix from year-to-year, depending on the varying characteristics of the year's harvest. He patiently explained which wines pair with which foods. We had to buy 2 cases to be sent back to the USA. The prices were incredibly reasonable for the quality. This is not an easy wine to locate even in Tuscany, so buy it directly from Rory here.

Rory is a passionate young man who cares deeply for his winery. He produces only about 10,000 bottles a year. This is a small operation, but the results are incredible. The story of the winery is also interesting. I will not tell the story, but instead, leave it to Rory because he is better suited for it. You can go to many wineries and tours throughout Chianti, but this one was unique because of the personal touch given by this hard-working and earnest young man.
