Modica is a lovely town in southern Sicily. It's a bit off the beaten path and all the more charming! The town is built on two high hills and offers beautiful views, winding streets, baroque architecture and amazing cuisine. Modica is known to be the town in Sicily that offers the best food. Modica is well known for his Barocco style churches and buildings. Corso Umberto Primo is the main street in downtown where you can enjoy sops, restaurants and bars.

Modica is one of the most beautiful cities we visited during our Sicily trip. Lots of stairs but every turn gives another breath taking view. When during the summer months best visit between 5 and 10pm because of the heat. The many chocolate shops add to the tourist experience, when with kids it's fun to visit a chicolate manufacturer and... More

I was so impressed with the cleanliness of Modica and the wonderful people. Motorists actually stopped to let us safely cross the street many times and someone from Cappero Bistrot tried to help us retrieve an atm card and made a phone call to the bank for us because it was closed. There are many dining choices and cultural options, Very... We visit Modica every chance we get because we love the old town. Very nice example of Baroque Architecture and then there is the special chocolate of Modica. People are really nice, too.

Compared to many places in Sicily this was delightfully easy to walk around - though there are lots of steep hills and steps, but it just somehow felt more relaxed and less frantic. Enjoy the churches and the chocolate and do a little bit of cafe people watching. The countryside drive is also nice.

This city was so wonderful, we wished we had stayed longer. It is a calming city with beautiful architecture and nice people. You can really get to know the real Sicily from this town and it is a good base to explore other small towns from here. (Great food and chocolate too)

A terrific city with a large part of the old part perched high with labyrinthine streets. (Our sat Nav tried to take us into the narro streets and down a flight of steps). A terrific lookout at the top, large ornate churches on the walk down and an attractive centre in the valley - apart from the traffic.

You have to have a car to go around the city by night. Small narrow roads, town all lit up, great view from the belvedere. Could not ask for more. Modica by night is definitely worth it.

We liked Modica, with nice bars and restaurants. Beautifull ancient buildings and a lot of people enjoying the evenings
