As historic town squares go this one ivery "unpretty". Some interesting remnants of ancient architecture but a mix of old & new... However, a good selection of outdoor/covered restaurants with wide choice of food...some touristy others more regional

A very nice city centre, with pittoresk small streets in the old part. Also a beautiful baroque part in the city centre (basilica).

Pretty flat walking area with number of cafe eateries, bars and beautiful architecture in the church, the gate and square especially. Fairly flat for walking and the disabled

After a delicious dinner at Mehta (highly recommended), we strolled through the picturesque old town of Martin Franca which was busy and beautifully lit. The white stone reflected the lights and made it look wonderful. Well worth a visit.

We visited Martina Franca as part of Newmarket Holidays 3 stop optional excursion and what a little gem. We were dropped off at the Piazza XX Settembre and made our way through the porta di San Stefano gate into the centro itself. The main street,...More

The historic center is lovely, with a lot of small places where you can eat or drink. We were there during a Picasso exposition - so there was a street full of colorful umbrellas and some of Picasso's quotes written on walls - it was...More
