A must-see in this lovely town
Aug 2020 • Family
This is one of the most beautiful “white city” in the region. Starting by the “porta di San Stefano”, you will want to lose yourself in the maze of tiny streets in which each house is lovelier than the next one.

Even in the hottest summer, the visit remains enjoyable as the tiny streets have lots of shades to get a rest from the sun.

In the late afternoon or evening, you may want to have a drink or dinner on this “Piazza Maria Immacolata”, with an fantastic view on the old church.

Lovely old square....
Sep 2019 • Couples
A lovely old square in the heart of the old town of Martina Franca.
A select number of fairly upmarket cafes & restaurants surround the square & make it the perfect place to eat & drink.

Beautiful building
Sep 2018
Was a lovely weeding going on when we visited with horse drawn carriages outside. Allowed inside for free later we’ll worth the visit for the beautiful chapels and rood also went later in night on one occasion and still allowed in quite eerie but lovely to see

Attractive town centre for people watching
Aug 2018 • Family
Very pretty predominantly pedestrianised town centre with a number of historic buildings and lovely baroque design. Various cafes / restaurants / bars at different prize point - many open during the day as well as the always busy evening promenade times; very pleasant to sit with a coffee or something stronger and watch the world go by. delightfully busy in the evening and seems to be a constant stream of summer weddings in late afternoon in the basilica.

Nice square in the middle of the old town
Jul 2018 • Couples
Nice square / piazza in the middle of the old town. During siesta hours this is probably the only part of town where you can get something to eat or drink because of the tourists. So you may want to head here during lunch hours

What a stunning place in the heart of the city.

Brilliant atmosphere and superb ice cream. Wander among the maze of side alleys and get lost in a time long gone by. Lovely restaurants, fantastic cathedral (basilica) and beautiful bijou shops.

Also see the little church in the plain building
Apr 2017 • Couples
This is probably the largest piazza within the city walls of the town, with a range of nice shops, restaurants and cafes, as well as a beautiful view of the church. Take the time to sit down and have one of the really tasty ice creams, before you visit the large church. And do have a look at the little church in the plain building on the opposite side of the piazza. It may not look like much from the outside, but is very nice inside.

Beautiful church that is actually open to enter!
Mar 2017 • Family
Most of the exterior of churches in Italy are beautiful to see but unfortunately most are not open so you can visit the inside as well. This chuch is and has some nice side chapels to view.

Just walk around this under rated and most Italian of large towns. It is great with numerous cafes, bars and restaurants
