Best view of the Lake Maggiore
Aug 2020
It is a unmissable spot when you visit Arona. It is one of my favourite place and the location is amazing. During the years the ruins of the castle have been restored and now they are the perfect background to this park.
The view is simply amazing....no doubts that it is the best view of the Lake Maggiore

Great view and lovely bar
Jul 2020
A great spot with a great panoramic view of Lago Maggiore.
The park is very well kept and lovely for an afternoon just hanging in the shade of some tree or other.
The bar serves a great coffee. I suggest the "taglieri" and the pizza.

Nice park it has great panoramic view of that area of the lake and the villages around it. There isnt a option for a picnic so its unfourtunate. If you are around its worth a visit it can take less than half a hour detour

The castle is in ruins but it is good exercise to walk up to the top and the views of the lake are lovely. There's a bar at the top!

This is a lovely park. Great for young children. There is a bar/restaurant with pleasant staff. The view is worth the visit and you can reach it with the little train.

Fantastic view and garden and more
Jul 2018 • Couples
Beautiful old castle, that is in surprisingly good shape. It takes about 20min to walk there from the port (and one can pick up an ice cream on the way). The view over the lake and Arona is breathtaking, and I can only recommend to climb to the highest tower. The parapet is traditionally low, so people with fear of heights might have issues. The garden is not only nice to look at but also a gem for people with interest in botany. The museum itself, well, shows dolls and offers a lot of detailed explanation for those who are interested in the topic. (We were not really.) Interestingly, one wing has recently been transformed to serve as a contemporary art museum which contrasts nicely the main exhibition. We would go again if we had the chance.

Great view of Lake Maggiore
Jun 2018 • Family
If you have a couple of hours to kill, this is the place you need to head to. It is easy to access, it is not too huge to cover, has a restaurant, a playground for kids, a duck pond with tortoises and geese too and benches and lush grass to laze around and enjoy the view of the brilliant lake Maggiore. Frankly, if it were about views, the bucket cable car ride wins it hands down, especially if you go in the evening time. But this is a place to relax and the greenery is a treat to the eyes. The ruins are all around and though entry is prohibited, you can still see them around you. It's free entry and a nicer place for a short stroll too.

Ruins Atop a Hill
Apr 2018 • Solo
This a park amid ruins of a castle, close to the town of Arona. It is a vantage viewing spot to view the town of Arona, Lake Maggiore and the castle across the lake.
You can reach the top of the hill on foot or by car. There is a toy train on wheels, which takes you from Arona to the top of this hill. The park is reasonable well maintained with green grass and the ruins are cordoned off with wooden poles. There is a bar and restaurant on top of the hill.
