About
MUDESC is a university museum that was established in 2009 as an offshoot of the Center for Documentation and Research on the History of Scholastic Books and Children's Literature. The museum is named after Paolo and Ornella Ricca, who donated their collection of books, notebooks and other school objects to the University in 2009. collects, preserves and communicates the various sources (written, material and oral) that testify to the history of Italian schooling from the Unification to the 1970s-1980s. To achieve this goal, the museum communicates the results of the Macerata University's scientific research through cultural events and educational services for different audiences.

At the museum we were welcomed by the Director and 2 students who, with great kindness, availability and competence, guided us along the route, taking us on a journey into the past. The place is magnificent! Rich in books, objects, furnishings and school furniture from the 19th and 20th centuries. A magical place that I highly recommend visiting.

If many generations have passed through the school, this Museum is the place where they ideally coexist and dialogue. A place very well looked after from a scientific point of view, certainly interesting for scholars and researchers, but exciting for everyone, since everyone can recognize it and relive a piece of personal and family history, reflecting on the past and the future. Highly recommended experience for those who are (and have been) sitting behind the desk and for those who are (and have been) sitting in front.

Un museo fantastico che racconta la scuola di una volta dove i più grandi possono rivedere i momenti della loro vecchia scuola. Un'esperienza fantastica anche per bambini anche per bambini e ragazzi dove possono conoscere la scuola dei loro genitori e nonni.
Molto carino anche farci scrivere con la penna "a tuffo" e realizzare un piccolo laboratorio di calligrafia. Molto gentile e disponibile lo staff.

Abbiamo conosciuto in questo museo come era la scuola dei nostri nonni. Bravissima la professoressa Marta Brunelli che ci ha spiegato come venivano utilizzati i vari oggetti che sono nel museo, come il pennino e il calamaio. È stato come tornare in un'altra epoca

Avevo già visitato 5 anni fa il museo ma ora è stato totalmente rivisitato offrendo un’esperienza ancora più piacevole. Molti gli oggetti e i documenti che fanno ricordare il passato della nostra scuola ripercorrendo le varie fasi storiche e culturali del marchigiano e non solo.

Un museo della scuola ormai giustamente famoso. Conservanti collezioni importanti, custodite e valorizzate da docenti dell'Università di Macerata. La visita è istruttiva e emozionante per grandi e bambini. Banchi, quaderni, libri...si torna indietro nel tempo. Ottime guide, che coinvolgono. Perfetto per classi scolastiche ma anche per visitatori meno giovani e per famiglie. Consigliato!
