Outside; this building doesn't impress, but inside it really does. It's like La Scala has been moved from Milan til Hermoupolis.

From the outside the building is a little impressive, but go inside and you will be greatly impressed. It is definitely beautiful. I wished there had been a performance of some sort for me to attend, but nothing was scheduled. Also make sure you go the museum on the upper floor.

The building of the theatre Apollon is a taste of the history of Ermoypolis in the present!!!!!! This theatre is the first opera house in Greece. Italian operas were presented there. Then the building was destroyed almost completely by the Germans. In 1970, there was an unsuccessful attempt to restore the theatre. Later on, another attempt had better results and... More

This was a big surprise to see such a large and really nice and modern theater on the island of Syros. It is a must see as you are walking around town. The outside does not look impressive but the inside is very nice! Definitely stop here when on Syros.

This theatre is very surprising for this island. It is just over city hall. Should absolutely be seen.

The Apollon Theatre is built as a smaller copy of the famous opera house La Scala in Milan, Italy. It is very beautiful in the inside. It is open for visitors throughout the day and in the evening unless there is a performance. The tour of the upper floors of the theatre where there is an open museum is paid... More

Ermoupolis (Suros capital) is well known for its beautiful 19th century buildings. The most popular (along with the townhall) is the Apollo theatre. It is a miniature of the Milan scala theater. The inner of the building is in a very good condition. Many performances given all the year (most of them every summer). It's very close to the port... More

My husband and I are musicians, so we frequently like to find a venue to see a concert when we travel. In Syros that means The Apollon Theater. Right off the central town square. Facing city hall, to the right on the road behind. Construction was finished in 1864 and the designs follow four basic standards: La Scala, Teatro San... More
