The best beach we went to during our holiday. If you want to get away from the crazy and busy beaches further west, then this is the place to be! No sea front hotels, no restaurants, no shops and no constant music (I love music but there are times when I just want to hear the sea, the wind and people enjoying themselves). You can hire beach loungers, you can get food from the food truck, there are porta loos, showers and taps. The beach is sandy with some rocks in the sea, but the rocks are quite smooth, the waves were great fun. It was quite busy but there’s plenty of space. There were lots of Greek families there, it was so friendly and family oriented.
We visited the beach after we went to the Minoan palace remains- fascinating. We got there by bus from further west. The buses run frequently and are cheap 1 euro 20 cents one way.

Lovely little find! We’ve been coming to Crete for years and only just discovered this lovely beach and restaurant. It’s so quiet and chilled out.
So clean and friendly. The lovely young lady who looks after the sun beds is so attentive, nothing is too much trouble, She’s delightful and so is her dog Diva!
The food and drinks selection from the restaurant are delicious, we will most definitely be back!
Sadly on our first Fay here the were a couple of very rude and angry Germans who were very aggressive and insulting towards the young lady who looked after the beach. There attitude was appalling and they should be ashamed of themselves.
It’s clean and friendly everything you want for a chilled day on the beach.
Just perfect!

A clean quiet spot to lay in the shade, in the sun or to cool off in crystal waters. Enjoy the view and the relative calm in the cove east of the center of Malia. There is no place playing loud music, so bring your own earbuds. The bay is excellent for swimming. Snorkeling will reveal the fish dancing around your legs although the water is clear enough to watch the dance.

We had found the beach on google maps and then subsequently been recommended it by the hotel we were staying in. Its a ten minute drive from Malia but completely worth it. Its in a natural cove which means the sea is nice and warm for a swim. Sunbeds are 7euros for two which includes an umbrella or 5 euros for one sunbed and umbrella. The beach is so much less crowded than the ones in Malia and so much more peaceful. The beach has everything you could need. There are portoloos which were clean & a delicious food truck that sold cold drinks and snacks of all varieties at a really reasonable price. We had a hotdog, chicken gyros and drinks all for under ten euros. We will definitely be visiting again! If your in malia take the very short journey to this beach.

If you want a beach away from the madding crowd and a bit of personal time this could be for you. Because it is quiet, it lacks the facilities of some other beaches but this may be worth a compromise.

For example, there are no sun lounges to rent so take your towel and a good book. That way you can enjoy the beautiful sandy beach and the very, very clean the sea which is safe for swimming or paddling for children.

Really nice beach, parking nearby, Sun loungers and umbrella a little steep at €10 but the beach is beautiful. The sea was like a warm bath in June and you can walk out quite far,

Lifeguard is on duty, people walking around selling donuts and fruits. There’s a grot van that parks up and serves lunch for those not wanting to walk up to the taverna, which is also really nice.

There’s showers, toilet cubicles and bins. People were litter picking and taking care of the beach, it seems lots of locals like to use this spot also.

Great sandy Beach. One of the nicer beaches around malia. Make sure you go to the first little gulf that is nearest the archeological grounds and not the one that is nearest the potamos tavern. Very clean water and easy entry that gets gradually deeper

Beautiful beach with a beautiful view, crystal clean water. The access to the sea was easy. There are trees at the edge of the beach where you can sit in a shade on a bench. The showers weren't the best but did their job. The left half of the shore is calm, while the right side is wavy. Nice tavern and archeological site are located very close to the beach.

Very quiet beach with stunning scenery just outside the busy resort of malia. Toilets a small snack bar, and reasonably prices sunbeds, along with an on duty lifeguard. Water is shallow and beach sheltered, good for kids
