    Lovely public beach
Lovely beach next to Malia, twixt there and Sisi. Busy but two beds/Brolly for the day. Pleasant and food vans nearby. Good for swimming and people watching. Great to get away from our poor hotel (Radisson at Milatos) for a few hours. Lots of parking and showers.

    Lovely beach!
Lovely sandy beach, very close to Mallia Palace if you want to visit there, and there's a bus station nearby. The beach is sandy and has lots of umbrellas and sun loungers available to hire for 15 euros which was reasonably priced in our experience. The sea is lovely apart from having a little bit of seaweed in it. There's a food van nearby which had a lot of food options and cold drinks at reasonable prices, and had a card machine.

    Nice quiet beach
If you want to get away from the hustle of Malia beach, this place is perfect. Be warned the sand gets really hot in the sun! Got a taxi from Malia for 10 euros, purchased sunloungers, two for 10euro for the day. Great little snack bar to get drinks and food from. Sea was nice and warm. Overall perfect day at the beach!

    Great beach!
Fabulous beach. 10 euros for 2 beds and umbrella which we regarded as a bargain! The sea was clear and clean great for swimming and splashing about and the beach was nice and sandy with boardwalk as that sand did get hot! Food trailer onsite which was great and adequate for drinks and snacks both hot and cold options and with reasonable prices. Be prepared to wait while they make your food and drinks but definitely worth it.

    Good beach
This isn't as busy as the other beaches along the coast, so there is usually lots of available loungers and parasols to rent. The rest of the facilities are pretty basic. If you need a changing room there's only one and I could only see one shower and a couple of portaloos. Take your own picnic if you want to eat as the one snack bar will have a queue. There were a couple of vendors walking up and down when we were there, one selling fruit and the other offering massages.

    Great beach
The locals preferred beach, €10 taxi ride each way from Malia strip. We had 1 umbrella/table with 3 sun beds for €15 all day. Water is great, clean, fairly calm with some snorkeling 20/30M out. The food hut is brilliant, gyros, burgers etc and most importantly cold beers & soft drinks all at very reasonable prices. Recommend.

The best beach we went to during our holiday. If you want to get away from the crazy and busy beaches further west, then this is the place to be! No sea front hotels, no restaurants, no shops and no constant music (I love music but there are times when I just want to hear the sea, the wind and people enjoying themselves). You can hire beach loungers, you can get food from the food truck, there are porta loos, showers and taps. The beach is sandy with some rocks in the sea, but the rocks are quite smooth, the waves were great fun. It was quite busy but there’s plenty of space. There were lots of Greek families there, it was so friendly and family oriented.
We visited the beach after we went to the Minoan palace remains- fascinating. We got there by bus from further west. The buses run frequently and are cheap 1 euro 20 cents one way.

Nice Clean beach. It has the blue Badge award, so you know its safe with a life guard normally on duty 9 - 5. We did think that the price of 10 Euros a day for 2 beds and a brolly was expensive, and if you can manage to lie on the sand and bring a shade if you need one there is pleanty of space to do that. Usually a food truck turns up to sell food and cold drinks, and there ia always a guy walks the beach selling Donuts for 3 euros. It gets really busy on Sundays and after working hours.
Its is much better than the main Malia area beaches and not so many youngsters recovering from the previous night!!!

If you want a beach away from the madding crowd and a bit of personal time this could be for you. Because it is quiet, it lacks the facilities of some other beaches but this may be worth a compromise.

For example, there are no sun lounges to rent so take your towel and a good book. That way you can enjoy the beautiful sandy beach and the very, very clean the sea which is safe for swimming or paddling for children.

We made a brief visit to Potamos Beach, of about an hour or so, during our stay in Malia. We had a car so we were able to drive there from our accommodation. The beach wasn't too crowded however it was quite rocky underfoot once you got to the waterline and further into the water according to my wife. The waves were also quite strong. I didn't make it into the water unfortunately as I was snoozing on the beach. After a short stay we moved on to Sissi for the rest of the day. Potamos Beach was ok for a visit but it's probably a good idea to bring water shoes due to the rocks.

Really nice beach, parking nearby, Sun loungers and umbrella a little steep at €10 but the beach is beautiful. The sea was like a warm bath in June and you can walk out quite far,

Lifeguard is on duty, people walking around selling donuts and fruits. There’s a grot van that parks up and serves lunch for those not wanting to walk up to the taverna, which is also really nice.

There’s showers, toilet cubicles and bins. People were litter picking and taking care of the beach, it seems lots of locals like to use this spot also.

Great sandy Beach. One of the nicer beaches around malia. Make sure you go to the first little gulf that is nearest the archeological grounds and not the one that is nearest the potamos tavern. Very clean water and easy entry that gets gradually deeper
