A lovely pier reconstructed in traditional style in the 1930s I believe. If you come from the town there is quite a difference in height . That can be overcome either by a long flight of very steep steps, a long zig-zag slope or an old fashioned “lift” on rails down the cliff. There’s a restaurant as well as an ice cream vendor and shack selling fish. At the end is a diving bell where you can take a ride under the pier for 30-45 minutes. After seeing how many people piled out after a trip, it didn’t appeal much to me.
Personally, I loved the historical photos placed at intervals and of course the incredible views.

Took the bike ride through the forest from Binz to Sellin and it was pretty strenuous and sometimes scary (downhill).
The pier itself is well worth seeing just to make a picture and say been there, done that, got the T-shirt.
Generally too mzny people for my liking.

It is interesting to see and walk out to the end, and it is an impressive view coming down from the town.

But, I am not sure what the attraction is. It's iconic, so you have to go, but I don't see the point.

This 1930s reconstructed pier is an iconic pier and the postcard picture symbol of Sellin town and Rugen island. It is a platform to stroll with restaurant and some small shops along the pier. There are a few stair steps to get down and up but you could take a free small lift to get up if you want.

This is one of the structures that pops when you see the jetty at Sellin from the top of the stairs. The white wooden restaurant on the jetty. When we were there there is a wedding going on on the beach.

With its restaurants, snack bars and the view it is definitely worth a visit. Also the diving thing at te end is quite nice with a little inside into the baltic sea. Very good fish buns and ice cream are available about half way to the end.

We was there and have lunch, the food was very good and the location was fantastic. You must go here if you’re at Rugen.

After bicycling from Binz, we made a stop in Selling. A special seaside resort with the wooden pier as the main jewel in the crown.
