It seems a bit of bad weather quickly closes lifts and it's difficult to get back to Foret if you get stuck below and even the "yoghurt pots" that take you up to the next level are closed. The only option is the funicular or...More

We have visited Flaine for the last 7 years, we love the whole ski area. This year we needed help on the slopes after one of our sons had an accident and can't believe how helpful the whole grand massif team are. They fetched him...More

Good mix of red and blue pistes. Can ski on wide pistes in Flaine or on forested areas in the adjacent small resorts. Good lifts with few queues. Varied selection of places to eat. Little might life. Lots of English families may put some off!

Flaine is best described as a bowl with the town in the middle. The runs take you in different directions to the top of the bowl where you ski down to the middle again. We visited in February during French school holidays. With other French...More

Arrived after resort had received in excess of a metre of snow. Runs had been bashed by the time we used them. 5 days of skiing meant we had visited every possible area within the grand massif and skiied virtually every run. Last day we...More

As a beginner the resort is well signed and has many suitable runs. Everything comes back to the village which is great for children. As an expert the range is terrific starting with the incomparably long black Gers and lots of off piste The views...More

Hi, you'd have to get a bus from Samoens to Flaine Forum to ride the DMC (cable car) to the top of the Grandes Platieres, as far as I know, this is the only way as a pedestrian, there is a restaurant at the top, which I've... More
