Please do not waste your time going to Zlatni beach, it is a horrible overcrowded mound of pebbles. We went there and wasted money on parking to turn straight around and come to Lovrecina Bay. It Is lovely and quiet, it has a shallow clear water bay great for paddling and lounging about. It also has a great little bar and restaurant. Perfect

We spent 10 days on Brac, Bol mainly at Borak beach, but tried Lovrecina bay as a day trip, because of its nice location. Arrived by car (40min away from Bol) around 9.30 and found a nice parking place with shadow (4€per day). Yes, the way ther was curvy and steep, but safe, my advice try to arrive early and leave late, you will not have problems with facing traffic on a small road. The beach was really sandy with some rocks and stones aside. The area where people can expand themeselves allows only one (max 2) row directly on the beach, and a great areal a small wall above it, which makes it really comfy anf feels like private beach. Quite a lot of vessels with tourist or private boats anchor in the bay off shore, so do not disturb. Far on the mainland you see the hills of Omis (also a nice spot and beach). Water was shallow, ideal for small kids, and at some places cooler than usual, probably because of the fresh water sources feeding into the bay. It was nice fish swarms and other molluscs, crabs fauna and flora under water which amazed us. Sup was nice with small kids as they could paddle on their own in shallor water without large waves. We were hit by some little storm and rain coming from mainland and sought shelter in the beach restaurand. Got nice service and great seafood, not really expensive, great quality (two person cold sea platter with smoked tuna, octopus salad, small fish, etc. bread 30€, and kids got fried calamari, tuna salad, fries for 25€). We left fully satisfied at 16:30.

The beach is not bad--it's a bit prettier from above than when you are there, but it's nice enough. Probably a good beach if you have young kids, as it is sandy and rather shallow. There is parking at the bottom. However...and this is a BIG however:
The drive down is a very steep, one car width road with a switchback and no guard rail. When it is busy, it becomes an absolute $hitshow (this is what happened to us).
When we tried to leave, the car that was coming down had to *reverse* halfway back up, and in the process burned out his (brake? engine?) as it was smoking like crazy.
Only recommend if you can be fairly certain that it won't be crazy busy.

This beach is not bad at all, it is I think the only sandy beach on the island so one might not need the shoes to get to the water - but well, first meter or so are pebbles in the sand and without shoes anything but comfortable. The water is very shallow for quite some distance so this is the beach you want to visit if you have small kids. There is a wall that provides some shade but the sun moves quite fast so the shade with it as well. Behind the wall is a nice large grass area that also has shady and sunny parts. The road to the beach is narrow (single car) but also short and with two spots where the cars can avoid each other on case they are coming from both directions - so no worries about that needed in my opinion.

We stayed in Bol and decided to visit Lovrecina Bay according to the good comments I've seen online. The road is awful and the beach is poor. We were so disappointed and left the beach immediately. My advice is not to waste your time here.

If you want to visit this beach, go there in the morning. There's plenty of shadow spots and without any crowd. Around noon, boats from the mainland and other towns around the bay, starts to transport tourists into the bay. Parking lot becomes full too.
Sandy beach, which is ideal for young children and nothing more.
I advise you to bring your own food and drinks, bar in bay is below average, but prices are complete oposite than quality.
Stay till early afternoon hours, after that it's waste of time.

AVOID the restaurant !! Every meal was cold, and brought back to us colder. Truly Amazing! If you like your pasta cold and your eating utensils just a knife, give it a go. Terrible

We were excited to visit "the only sand beach" in Brac. I guess it was sand, but a very narrow stretch of hard packed wet sand. It's all in a bay, so the water is kind of stagnant and not crystal clear like every where else on the island.
It's hard to get to, and in my opinion - not worth the effort

Very nice and isolated beach with natural sand and plenty of shades. It's on the north side of the Island of Brač, between Pučišća and Postira! You can get there by car or by boat! Unlike Bol's "Zlatni rat", there is no heavy wind and the bay is protected from every wind except North (Bura), so when the South (Jugo) is blowing, go to Lovrečina instead of Bol! The road is a bit narrow, but there is a large parking area, restaurant, bar, horses... PARADISE!

Hi Gale26,
I am going to croatia with my sister in august. I would like to go to that beach, how did you get there? is it easily accessible ? do you know anyone in Croatia who could help us have an experience instead of just visiting like tourists?
