The visit to Dimcho Debelyanov's house was very educational. It was both interesting and sad to read about his life in Koprivshtitsa and during the Balkan War and the World War I. While you walk around his house and read the info boards, you can listen to his audio-recorded poems.
All Bulgarians must be proud that such a person was born and worked in our country.
It is also commendable that the house and some of Dimcho Debelyanov's belongings are so well preserved. It is also great that all the information is presented both in Bulgarian and English.
Taking photos inside the house is not allowed. There is a combo ticket for 6 museums in Koprivshtitsa at a ridiculously low price.

Beautiful house. When you start your visit of the historic monument houses, ask for the grouped ticket price which allows you entry in 6 houses. This is one of them.

In the town of Koprivshtitsa is the native home of the gentle poet of Bulgaria - Dimtcho Debelyanov . The house-museum is located in a picturesque courtyard , in the shade of majestic pines and cherry decoration . Greenery and fragrance of flowers is nestled wooden house with deep blue walls . House is relatively modest , two-storey , but impresses visitors with its magnificent exhibition of personal belongings of the poet. It was built by the grandfather of the poet in 1830 . Here 's cradle , briefcase , manuscripts, photographs and letters Dimtcho Debelyanov . In front of the house is the beautiful statue by sculptor Ivan Lazarov, depicting the poet's mother , waiting for him in the doorway , frozen in a sad position. Birthplace of Dimtcho Deblyanov kept to this day the magic flowing from his poetry .

Dimcho Debelianov house in Koprivshtitsa is not only a great example of an old historical house renovation, but also a perfect example of how the spirit of an era can be revealed correctly in nowadays...beyond the sentimental part, the poet's mother statue in the yard, the poet died 26 years only, it's exemplary how the rennovators managed to reflect the era of national states creation, the spiritual prerequisites and the mission feelings driving those people in Bulgaria, which was not however the only case in Balkans those days....the pictures, the photos, the music around you, the exhibition materials in general, manage to transfer to visitors all that missionary spirit of these years, when something more than, even, life mattered..visit is strongly recommended.

Home of the Symbolist poet, it is beautiful and beautifully placed. The blue ground floor wonderfully contrasts with the darker top storey and the red roof tiles.
In the garden is a poignant sculpture of Dimcho's mother awaiting her son's return from World War I. Her wait was in vain as he was killed in 1916.
Fine portraits of him are to be seen inside. Comfortable rooms contain numerous possessions and artefacts.
