The hike starts down the rail roads and leads into the woods and up the mountain. We went without a guide as there were many people doing the hike so we basically teamed up with them when we were in doubt of the way.
It seems kinda far. People said it’s a 5 hour walk up and down. But we did it in 2,5.. make sure you check your map and you take the right paths to walk up there!

I enjoyed hiking Ella Rock! It was quite the challenge. I used Maps.Me to help navigate. I turned down a few local guides. I don’t think it’s necessary to hire a guide, but on my way back I got lost, which was quite unpleasant. I...More

Hi, the hike is not too hard for your kids, some paths are easier but it will take a local to show you. It's not really an area for swimming but there's a stream to cool off about 100m after leaving the train track as you join the track up to the rock. Check water quality before you decide. Enjoy the walk, the views are amazing.
