If you are planning to hike Ella Rock make sure you have with you water and a hat and get a good breakfast in the morning. Go as early as you can, we started our walk at 9 and it was already pretty hot. We took around 1h and 45 minutes to go up, the walk at the beginning is... More

Amazing, not to be missed at all! Best to get a guide and go early morning to miss the hot temperatures as can be challenging at times but so worth it.

We did it on a very hot morning so the last bit of the climb was a struggle, the satisfaction and view are worth it though. We didn't hire a guide and it didn't seem necessary to have one. Lovely men at the top selling tea and water.

A tougher hike @ 5 km each way from our hotel, but very rewarding. Be sure to bring lots of water and start as early as possible in the morning! Plan to spend time at the top and snap away with your camera. Fog/mist rolled in when we reached the top, but it dissipated after about 10 minutes. The turpentine... More

The climb to the top near the end is challenging but once at the top you have great views and can even see opposite the little Adams peak, worth the effort.

The hike is very nice all along but it's quite hard to find the way. We got lost and a local guy took us through a short cut of his. He was very nice and helpful but don't come there without any money because you will probably get lost and need to pay the nice local person that takes you.... More

Trekking to Ella Rock was the main reason we came to Ella. The view from the mountain really excites! The way to the top lies along old railway, small waterfall, tea and rice plans, deep forest, steep train and eucaliptus trees. The route took us 4 hours including about hour of "landscape enjoying":) Don't forget to take water with you!

Went here in the afternoon after mini Adams Peak and the nine arch railway. All are doable in a long day. Make sure to walk the extra 15mins along the ridge to the Buddha in the small cave for even better views of the distance and waterfalls. Avoid guides, any we saw were dodgy looking. We actually got pointed off... More

This is a great treck that will lead you on top of a beautiful rock and a tremendous view, you should make sure you have clear direction on how to get there as it is not indicated at all , you might want to have a guide before entering the woods it will cost you a couple dollars and will... More
