Really i wondered most of the local peoples itself doesnt know about this great place. This is the place where saptarishi's together performed thap and Ganges just divide into 7 branches and without disturbing them it passed through. Those kind of thing is not there presently. but it happened yugs before. Calm & neatly maintained place. Next to god, our great sages are there to guide us. So just visit this holy place, amazingly calm, i have seen only people less than 10 at that place. Must visit place while going pilgrimage, these are some of the rarest places in earth.

Sapt Rishi Ashram is a beautiful ashram complex in Haridwar. This is a picturesque place where seven great sages or Saptarishis like Kashyapa, Vashishtha, Atri, Vishwamitra, Jamadagni, Bharadwaja and Gautama is said to have meditated. As per mythology, Ganges split herself into seven currents at this place so that the Rishis would not be disturbed by the flow. This place has many small temples in a beautiful garden which has rudraksha tree also. There are rooms in the garden where visitors to the ashram can stay. Very peaceful and well maintained place.

I've stayed for about one week in one of the small houses located on the terrain of the Sapt Rishi Ashram.
The people in the Ashram are very friendly.
The Holy river Ganga is less than a minute walk away.

This sacred place is located 5 KM North of Haridwar. It is here the great seven sages meditated. To bless them individually, river Ganga split itself into seven streams here and reunite at Haridwar. The ashram here hosts a lot of religious activites. The bathing ghaat here is exceptionally beautiful.

The Ashram is named "Saptrishi" which means seven sages. In ancient times there were seven saints who used to meditate here. The river Ganga in order to pass by without disturbing them, splits here into seven streams, as can be seen on Google maps.
The Pandav brothers on their way to heaven, passed through this place. This is shown by statues of the five brothers and their wife near the river bank.
In more recent times, people walking to Badrinath and Kedarnath used to pass through and sometimes rest here. An old delapidated building near the present ashram was said to be for night stay of pilgrims walking into the hills.

We were a family of five that had gone to Haridwar for the spiritual experience. We did not like the aarti much at Har Ki Paudi.
Because our hotel was close to Saptarshi Ashram, we took a walk early AM, and enjoyed our time here. It was very peaceful, with very few pligrims. Bathing in the Ganga waters here was such a nice experience. Waters were shallow.
There was also a changing room for females, although it was very basic.
There was a large Ashram adjacent to it, and the entire experience was spiritual. Nowhere did anyone pressurise to contribute money. If you are looking to spend a quiet time bathing in the Ganga, and a peaceful spiritual experience, I strongly urge you to consider this instead of Har ki paudi.
