If you have a spare 30 minute or possibly an hour, then Warbirds and Wheels display is worth the NZ$20 entrance fee. Great display

With a similar museum just down the road, some visitors may be confused and miss out on this display of vintage cars and aircraft. However, I would highly recommend a visit as this is quite different from the NTT Museum. The major difference is they have concentrated on a small number of cars, restored to new standard and displayed with... More

Hi eudele, Thanks for the post and for pointing out exactly what we feel is our point of difference. With two museums almost next door to each other, it's easy for people to end up at the wrong museum. Warbirds & Wheels is located actually in Wanaka Airport and has an Aer Macchi plane mounted on a pole at the... More

Well presented museum with interesting stories, beautiful cars and planes. It was a great way to spend an hour or so during a wet, cold winter day but you do need to dress warmly as the warehouse is not heated.

This is the best and biggest museum I have ever visited. Allow plenty of time. Children will love it just as much as the adults.

Have visited this place a couple of times and will go back. Even better if you time your visit with the biannual warbirds over wanaka festival

Really interesting museum. The planes and stories on display were fascinating. Strikemasters and Skyhawkes were the RNZAF planes of my childhood so great to see them here. The surprise package was the cars; many old Fords, Packards etc, they just looked great. The museum hanger was cold, so dress accordingly. Price reasonable at $20 each. Nice 50s themed cafe attached.

The museum is fun, but you can also skydive for about $US 500. Great fun. Good planes. Good jumping companions.
