Thoroughly enjoyable day out, May 2014. Weather not the best first thing with low cloud in the Twizel valley but our guides took us on another ride around the shores of Lake Ohau (on part of the A2O trail), then we were treated to lunch picnic stop by the lake before connecting with our helicopter once the cloud had cleared. AWESOME (although very quick) flight to top of Ben Ohau with stunning views all around, bikes securely attached under the chopper on a special rack so no risk of damage to our bikes. Ride down with varying terrain with the odd short uphill bit, seemed a long way due to snaking down a long ridge then down creek valley with creek crossings, to the shore of Lake Ohau. Really nice riding although not technical was easy for our group. Finished off with optional ride back to our picnic spot along the lake shore good to get warmed up as it was quite cool in May with dusting of snow on neighbouring hills - which made for gorgeous photos. PS We topped off our excellent day with a hot tub at Omarama - highly recommended.

Being the weakest link in the group I was anxious about the Mountain biking. I was totally inexperienced but thoroughly enjoyed tho whole day from the helicopter ride to the feeling of smugness as we drove back to Twizel. Our guide exuded passion for the region and was full of information regarding flora and fauna and history . He was most encouraging regarding the biking giving me helpful tips .. enabling me to complete the ride with growing confidence !!

February 2014. This trip surpassed expectations by quite a margin. Our guide ensured we were safe and also provided a very interesting commentary on the area. The helicopter ride is fun and allows access to a superb vantage point. Everyone including less experienced riders enjoyed the descent.

Had a great half day MTB trip out of Tekapo in April 2012 with this outfit. After a pre-flight briefing we had an early flight up to the top of one of the mountains beside Tekapo. Only a 10 minute flight but great views over the Southern Alps. The view and sense of emptiness at the top of the mountain where we landed was truly awesome! However the best bit was to come - the descent... Quite steep for the first few km, but not too technical. As things eased off there were a few small river crossings and then a beautiful gentle down hill MTB ride across the grassland towards Tekapo. With a bit of "Lord of the Rings" sightseeing on the way. A really enjoyable morning MTB ride with a very professional outfit.
