Sailing with captain Doming in the Ventajero was a great escape for me and co-workers. Great service and attention, water activities and food. The sailboat is in great conditions and the captain was always attentive and informative. I highly recommended if you like something private and relaxing.

I have been sailing with capt Domingo in his sail boat “Ventajero” for over 20 years and the experience is always superb. Our last trip was with the whole family and like always the experience was amazing. Thank you Domingo for your attention and the memories for a lifetime. Highly recommended.

We book a 2 days trip for Oct. 16 & 19(first day went to Vieques and the second day took us from Vieques to Culebra). The journey was amazing and the cooking skill very impressive. The views from both island are breathtaking and was a smooth sail. Domingo is a great host, very helpful and cordial.

A beautiful sailing experience in the waters near Fajardo. Captain Domingo is knowledgeable and knows how to make sailing the best experience. The first mate, Laura, was wonderful!

We had a beautiful day in paradise.

We planned to sail with Capt. Domingo for three days on Ventajero 4 from Fajardo to Culebra to Vieques, and back to Fajardo. Everything was set to go. Domingo talked us through the confusing streets by phone, and we met him at the marina. Sadly, he had a problem. The diesel injection system on the engine had just failed. There was no way to do the trip. He didn't want us to wait around for a fix, since it might be a total waste of time. As it turned out, he had to take part of the engine to San Juan to have the problem analyzed. He felt the the best thing would be to refund our $1,000 deposit, so we could make alternate plans and not spoil our trip. He handed us the cash, and we made new plans.

Capt. Domingo is the kind of person we'll always choose to do business with. He was charming and gracious. He made the decision that was best for us. It was a loss for him -- not just the three day charter, but the provisions he had bought, including our special food and drink requests. I've been sailing for over 40 years, and I've had to cancel trips on my own boat because of engine problems. It's not fun for the owner.

If you want to deal with a person of integrity, who will go the extra mile for you, then plan a trip with Capt. Domingo. He's the best, and we'll try again.

We spent April 4 on the Ventajero with Captain Domingo and his first mate and enjoyed every minute of our trip. We booked the trip based on the many 5-star reviews on Tripadvisor and it was clear from the moment we stepped on board that we had made a great choice. The 52ft sailboat has all the amenities needed to enjoy a day or several days at sea. After a safety review and tour we left shore around 10am and sailed about 90 minutes to an outlying island. We stopped about 50 yards from the shore to enjoy snorkeling at a gorgeous reef and to eat a wonderful lunch of mahi mahi, steak, rice and salad. They provided snorkeling gear and flotation belts for our family of four and let us explore the reef at our own pace, then we motored in closer to shore so we could explore the island beach and tidewater pools. Our 12 and 15 yr old sons enjoyed finding snails, crabs, fish and sea urchins in the tidewater pools and we enjoyed the secluded beach and gorgeous views. We also loved beng able to walk on the deck as we sailed to and from the island. Throughout the trip, the Captain and first mate were engaging, friendly and attentive hosts, takng care of our every need from adult beverages to Capri Suns for our youngest son. They even surprised me with a birthday fruit torte "cake" and candle since we sailed on my birthday. We stayed at the island until around 4:30 pm and then sailed back to the Villa Marina at Fajardo, arriving around 5:30 pm. This was our family's favorite day in Purto Rico. It was truly a wonderful, relaxing, and fun experience - far better than what we would have experienced on a crowded catamaran. I highly recommend Captain Domingo and the Ventajero for an experience that youl'll always remember and want to repeat.

Tips:
Be prepared to pay for your trip in cash - the hotels all have bank machines. You can get to the Villa Marina in ten minutes by cab ($20 each way) from the El Conquistador resort. Wear swimsuits and sandles and bring your own towels (from your hotel). Don't forget sunblock and your camera!

We're almost speechless. Captain Domingo is 110% top notch. He's extremely personable, knows the Caribbean waters better than the back of his hand and an amazing cook--I stress the word "amazing". Domingo's vessel, the Ventajero, is the perfect size for four to six people. Plenty of room, clean, organized and well stocked with cold beverages.
We almost weren't going to go given the weather conditions for the day were worsening on the island. Domingo didn't pressure us whatsoever, leaving it completely up to us if we still wanted to set sail. After reviewing the local radar ourselves and conversing with Domingo, we decided to take the risk. We're so glad we did. Although the main island got pounded with rain, the weather held up on the water. The waters were a bit choppier than normal, but Domingo's knowledge of the local islands made all of our concerns melt away. Everywhere we went was simply perfect.
This was one of the highlights of our weeklong trip in Puerto Rico. We will absolutely positively set sail with Domingo again. Next time though, a much longer trip throughout the Caribbean. :)
Thanks, Domingo!

Six of us recently took a sailing day trip with Captain Domingo and had a blast! It is perfect for a small group (six is the max) that wants to enjoy the beautiful scenery, the boat, each other's company, quality food and drinks, and some snorkeling on a great reef.

Domingo has a professional yet relaxed demeanor which makes you feel comfortable, safe, and right at home aboard the boat. He is very gracious and will answer any questions you may have about the island, etc., or will leave you alone if you just want to take it all in and socialize with your friends.

The food was incredible - while we were anchored down at Icacos island, Domingo prepared and served grilled flank steak, salad w/ raspberry vinegarette, and a very tasty rice & beans. He also had snacks, beer, rum, sodas, and water in full supply for our group.

I highly recommend making this trip high on your list of things to do while in Puerto Rico.

This time last year my family (me, husband & 2 elementary aged boys) were sailing the gorgeous waters around Culebra and Culebrita with Captain Domingo. We spent 3 days and 2 nights aboard the Ventajero. We snorkeled all day, sailed, explored the islands, and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. This was an unforgettable vacation; Captain Domingo was an excellent host, superb chef, and I couldn't say more about his knowledge of the area. There is absolutely nothing like being the only people on or near Culebrita when the sun is shining and the water is a brilliant clear turquoise. Breathtaking. Highly recommend.

Did a 3 day sail to the islands off PR with Domingo this month with my wife.

Domingo is a safe, honest and knowledgeable captain and surly knows the best spots for sailing, snorkeling and amazing beaches around PR. Cublerita and Flamingo beaches were highlights. We are active people and left enough time and flexibility for swimming, hiking and exploring numerous spots during the day. He allows you to sail yourself (when appropriate) as much as you want - so you can be crew or passenger - or a little of both as you wish.

The boat is clean and big enough for overnight. He does not "skimp" and keeps the AC on through the night as needed. He is a great cook and caters to menu requests. Always makes sure you are hydrated (water or booze).

He is a good people person and is engaging enough to enjoy his company confined on a boat for 3 days. He also strikes a nice balance when you might want time alone with family.

We stayed at the St Regis and the Ritz Carlton on our trip - but our favorite three days were on the sailboat. We will look to sail with him again on a future trip. - Dave and Pam
