We enjoyed our time on the Spread Eagle II. It was a nice boat with a fun crew - with the exception of the Captain. He was pretty ornery and kept his nose in his phone for the majority of the trip. The boat didn't have enough floating devices on board for when we snorkeled, which I didn't fully understand. Shouldn't you know ahead of time how many people are coming onto the boat? When someone mentioned this directly to the captain, he acted like he couldn't care less. A few of the crew members were nice enough to go find some old pool noodles in the bottom of the boat but I felt bad for the dozen or so folks that had to use that to try and snorkel. Overall - the food and drinks were nice, the weather was beautiful, and we had a fun time.

My family has been on several snorkel tours in Puerto Rico since 1995. It has been a few years since we moved off island and recent world events has limited our visits in recent years. This being our first time with Spread Eagle 2, we were impressed. All expectations were met. Crew was on point with all aspects of safety, entertainment, & service. What places SE2 at a 5/5 score is that they were able to accommodate our party of 10 with only 24 hr notice. Very engaging crew. Much fun.

The Spread Eagle II was a beautiful boat that made for a very scenic sail during the short ride to and from Icacos. Much more of a scenic ride than the bigger faster indoor boats that go to Culebra and Vieques and this trip has a better snorquel experience. The other island tours and beaches are cool, but you don't get as much time at your destinations since they're farther away. I highly recommend this company and crew for this day excursion!

If you are going to the coast near Farjado and want to do a snorkeling tour, I highly recommend finding another company. I booked this tour based off of their description with the idea that we would be snorkeling and would see marine life. I have snorkeled all over the world and the good tour guides always get in the water to take you to spots in the ocean so that you can see marine life. The catamaran was nice but it was crowded with about 40 people. We docked at a beach and I stopped counting when I saw 20 boats that were also docked along next to us on the beach. Each boat had anywhere from 10 to 40 people, so you can imagine the amount of noise and commotion in the water. Needless to say, I did not see anything other than a few gray fish by one of the docks. When I asked one of the boat employees if we were going to actually see marine life in the ocean, he laughed and said it’s Sunday Funday referencing to all of the boats next to us and that we could snorkel on our own by the beach. It was basically a party boat with everyone drinking and making a commotion. Keep in mind, it wasn’t even 11am.
We did end up moving our boat to another reef. However, there were about 10 other boats surrounding that reef as well. I did see a few colorful fish but nothing that I couldn’t see if I had stayed local in the San Juan area. The guides still did not get in the water at all.
*I took a different snorkeling tour three days prior and that was 180° difference. The group was much smaller @15 people total. The guide swam with us the entire time while we were in the middle of the ocean near Vieques. On this other tour, I saw and swam next to three sea turtles, multiple stingrays, amazing colorful fish of all sizes, and even saw an octopus. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and explained what we were seeing and made sure that we were going to very remote spots in the water. I did not see any other boats for miles. That just shows you what a solid tour should be*
I also paid extra to be driven to and from old San Juan where I was staying. On the drive back the driver kept complaining that the traffic was too much and that he wasn’t going to drop me off in town. I was trying to relax on the bumpy ride in the uncomfortable van and he kept yelling my name (4 times!!) to come to the front so that I could see the cars.
If you want to experience the amazing marine life that surrounds this beautiful island, do NOT book this tour.

The staff was great. Very respectful and communicated well. The only thing I didn’t like, capt. Bill turned the music down because he says his ears were hurting. We all (14ppl) came on this private charter catamaran to have a good time so we were confused why the low limit on the music? Overall We made it the best we could. Music is life Bill!

Every time we visit an island in the Caribbean, we like to do a snorkel trip if possible. Quite frankly, I picked this one over the others simply based on what they offered for lunch! The reality is, several of the other tours that leave from the same place and go to the same island, Icacos, all follow the same itinerary for the same length of time. Really, the only difference is what they serve for lunch.
If you drive yourself, you park on the street, which, in the early morning, wasn't an issue, and wait by the front gate of the marina. They come with a golf cart to pick you up and take you back to the boat. There are restrooms on the dock that you can use before boarding. There is also a restroom on the boat.
Once on the boat, they go over safety instructions, and then they set sail. You can see the destination from the harbor, and it was a nice trip over to the island. They anchor the boat right next to several other tours, and you can go down a staircase into the water, and then wade to shore if you want to sit on the beach. Or, you can take the snorkel equipment and start snorkeling right then and there. Note, you are not allowed to take home any shells or coral from this island as it is a preserve.
After spending a little more than an hour on the island, you can head back on board for lunch. They have a basket of the most amazing bread, then a spread of lunch meat and other fillings to make an amazing sandwich. They had a big bowl of fruit, chips, crackers, cookies, everything that made for a great meal. We aren't drinkers, but from the time you left the harbor throughout the entire trip, the drinks were flowing for anyone was interested. However, there is no pressure to partake, so those that weren't drinking don't feel singled out.
A little while later, they pulled up the anchor and sailed to a reef about 10 or 15 minutes away. At that point everyone is encouraged to get off the boat to snorkel. When the snorkel time was over, we sailed back to the dock. They did throw bits of leftover bread into the water where we were snorkeling, which brought throngs of fish up to that area, so you could see lots of different fish swimming by. That was pretty cool! The crew was exceptionally nice, friendly, and funny. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone looking for a good time on a catamaran.

Honestly, we went with this company for our snorkel trip because they had availability on the day we needed (others did not) and because they were a little better priced. It was such a great time! The crew was friendly and attentive, and the catamaran is so well kept. The stops are similar to other companies - they all anchor at the same places. Would absolutely book them again!

This experience was incredible and the staff was remarkable. We did not mind over tipping to compensate for all the cheap people who just walked off the boat. They provide food, alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks as part of the experience. Along with the option to open a tab for shots or whatever. They also provided fun floatation devices outside of the life vest. The island they take you has water like I’ve never seen and the point out wild life as it comes towards us. Thanks to the crew we saw turtles and stingrays and other fun wildlife. Highly recommend, this was dope.

Truly a wonderful experience! The crew was great; and Tracy's jokes were ridiculous. The crew was very good about wearing their masks; it was like being on a catamaran with ninjas! We went to Palomino Island - great snorkeling over by the rocks, and then even better snorkeling in the second part of the trip. Remember your sunscreen and enjoy!

On a lot of other snorkeling sites in PR there are a lot of pictures of sea turtles which I did not see in this photo album. Do you ever see sea turtles?
Written May 7, 2015
Most of the cat sail tours go to the same places and mostly the turtles avoid those places because of so many people. There are some turtles by Palamino, so you can ask if the boat might go there. East Island Tours does a power cat trip to Culebra and I have seen turtles on that trip.

Is there a way to coordinate transportation to and from their location? I will be staying at a hotel in Condado/ San Juan.
Written February 24, 2015
We had our own transportation but I know that some came in on a vehicle that they had been picked up from different locations. I think they have regular stop locations.
