Crystal Clear Waters & Pristine Beach
Amazing day at a beautiful, pristine beach. I loved the quick catamaran ride to the tiny islands, much closer than other excursions, and smaller group. Great music and mood from the crew on The Traveler. Nice snorkeling g with turtles! Lunch and snacks were simple, nothing special, but did not mind that. Drinks were were plentiful. Absolutely great time. Reapply sunscreen!

    The perfect beer commercial
You want a sand covered deserted island, with warm blue waves and nothing to bother you, this is it. Yes, the boats that pull up play dance music and people do arrive by the dozens but there is room for all. Leave it all behind. Ps. Most hotels can book day boat tours to here.

    Paradise on Earth--Key Icacos
Cayo Icacos is paradise on Earth. We are so glad we did it. We took a water taxi from Fajardo. It costs between 50 and 60 dollars. They gave us a big umbrella without any charges. Renting an umbrella is about 20 dollars. The trip was 15 to 20 minutes. They don't allow to travel with babies but toddlers are fine. The color of the water is crystal clear blue. So transparent! The white sand of the beach. The green vegetation. The views of Puerto Rico with El Yunque on the background. This family trip was the best decision ever. Better than going to Isla Culebra which is farther and harder to get at. Our experience in Cayo Icacos was heaven on Earth. You can go on a catamaran or in a sailing boat for a higher price but they don't allow toddlers.Make sure to bring your food and drinks. There is no development in this little key. No one lives there. No buildings. Thank goodness! We will love to go back in the future.

Very friendly sales woman sold me a $900 private guided snorkel tour knowing that I was a single parent with 4 teenage kids. We we arrived at the marina and set off for a small island 10 minutes away. The Captain docked the boat on the island with no intent of snorkeling. He had a loaded cooler full of old beer, some water and soda. There was no functional snorkeling gear provided. There were a few old and moldy mismatched masked and fins but not enough for 5 people. I asked the captain if he was going to guide us and he said no. He said if I wanted to snorkel to take my kids around a dangerous reef but he wouldn't go. Do NOT TRUST this business. I complained and they would not refund any part of my payment. I will continue to inform local hotels and taxi drivers about this practice as I hope it saves another family the disappointment. If you simply want to go to Icacos Island, take the ferry for $3 per person.

A must in Puerto Rico. Just a couple of things to keep in mind. There is no shade so make sure you have an umbrella or a good hat and sunscreen. There are no bathroom facilities so you have to take care of our needs elsewhere. You may wanna bring anything to eat or drink since you can't purchase anything on the island. When we got to the area where we boarded our boat we had the option to rent two chairs for 7 dollars and you leave a 5 dollar deposit which you get back when you return them. Those chairs were a life saver.

Cayo Icacos is a beautiful Island, pristine turquois waters ,very busy during weekends. Nice for swimming. We take Cariduros Water Taxi, They are the best water taxi ! Capitan Reynaldo was so kind to us ,We were a family group of 8 ,including my Elderly parents . Capitan Reynaldo helped my 77 years old Mother get in /out from the boat. It was a very successful trip to Icacos. We have a great family day in Icacos thanks to Reynaldo and Cariduros Water Taxi. The only inconvenience is the trash in some areas of the Island ,including broken glasses I picked up all the trash that I saw because we needs to preserve this pretty Island of Icacos.

Our family of four took a last minute trip to Icacos with mandibula water taxi. We had a great trip! It was a weekday, and not overly busy (I was a little worried about crowds knowing it is a popular place to visit.) Once we got there we took a short walk to the left and had a our own private stretch of beach. We enjoyed swimming and lazing around. Bring water and an umbrella for shade!

We did this with a family of 5 in Feb 2020 and had an amazing time.
The water is great (but salty) and the crew on the boat were incredible! They made everyone feel at home and paid a lot of attention to safety. The food was plentiful and good, the snorkeling was fun and the beach was pristine.

Icacos island is so beautiful! We ended up going with Captain Mingo! He’s the best! If you’re ever in Puerto Rico, I recommend visiting this island WITH captain mingo. He made our experience fun and easy. The place was easy to find as well.

We took the 5.5 hour catamaran/snorkeling tour with Castillo tours, which left out of Fajardo. The crew was great, they provided rum drinks, water, and a brown bag lunch. It took about 30 or so minutes from the marina to arrive at beach at Caya Icacos. They let down a stair into the water (which was about 4-5’ deep. They have floaties available if needed. The captain pointed out that the area around the old railroad dock had some neat things to see, old mule train carts which became reefs (water about 5’ deep).

No restroom facilities on the island but the catamaran does have them, but requires walking down stairs so depending on mobility could be a challenge. The sand which and chips were good, as were the drinks. The snorkeling was good and my family had a great time. Genesis was our hostess and she was great.

Captain David took us out to two islands. We snorkeled (provided by the captain) and had just the most amazing time! I appreciated the punctuality of the service and the price was fair. And what touched me most is how much the captain cares for the water. We pointed out an empty plastic bottle floating in the ocean and he gently, fished it out to dispose of responsibly on shore.

I 100% recommend if you're ever in Fajardo!
