We spent a family week in Puerto Rico march 2020; the highlight of our trip was our fishing trip with Marco. We were 6 in the boat, (family of 4 with 2 kids of 5 and 7 and my 2 parents). Marco was kind with my children, made them catch fishes and drive the boat! We caught a lot of different species and my father got his tarpon. We all had tarpon bites but he only could take it out of the water. Security; fun; cool boat ride and lot of information. I would do it again any time! Worth every dime. He even cleaned the fishes for us at the end and we had delicious fish for 4 meals of 6 person!

WOW! What an amazing trip! A++++ would give it more stars if I could. We decided on a last minute fishing trip while in the area and called up Captain Marcos. We told him what we were looking for and he gave us a great price and was super accommodating! I took my in-laws who needed a little help and Captain Marcos was right there helping everyone just as if he was our family. Everything was wonderful from the conversations, to the fishing, to the time we all spent together. We even got to take our freshly caught fish, prepare them at the docks and walk right into the next door restaurant and cook them up and eat on the spot. Absolutely delicious!
Cant wait to come back and do another trip with him! If you're looking for some fun fishing with family and you don't call 787 fishing, you are definitely missing out.
Oh and definitely ask about his pet fish at the docks! He has some wonderful info about them and you may even get a chance to feed them! Trust me, definitely want to feed them!
Seriously couldn't be happier!
Thanks again Captain Marcos!

Fantastic time! We arrived a little early and they were ready to go. They certainly know the hotspots to fish. We only did a half day charter but we caught 10 different variety of fish. There was not much downtime. The captain and the mate were extremely interesting to talk to and at times very funny. They were not afraid to bust our chops. The saying on the back of the captains shirt was “ if you feel, then reel” he did not want us setting the hook down here apparently once you feel the bite you just start to reel and you’ll hook the fish. They were absolutely correct. But since I fish a lot I am used to setting the hook and at one point the captain said “every time you pull to set that hook, you take 3 days off my life, I am now 105 years old”
They had plenty of soda and water and we did not want for anything. They showed us how to do the fishing they baited our hooks.
I would highly recommend them.

Our trip was actually in September 2012, and I have not been able to forget my first time ocean fishing. Captain Marcos and his mate were absolutely superb, understanding exactly where the fish were, how to get them, and the results were spectacular.
My wife came with us, and she enjoyed herself immensely.
We ended up catching a large mutton snapper (~20lbs), and having it for dinner.
I recommend Captain Marcos and 787Fishing.com for any level of ocean fishing!

We had a wonderful time with Captain Marcos of 787 Fishing. We took a two hour trip and greatly enjoyed our time of the water and catching fish. Our favorite part was that Captain Marcos filleted the fish and we took it to a local restaurant for preparation. Delicious! Captain Marcos is extremely kind and knowledgeable. This was definitely a highlight to our Puerto Rico trip.

We fished a four-hour morning trip with Marcos and his mate Donovan. Both were great at their craft and great communicators (with us in English). Marcos is a guide who loves fishing and loves teaching just as much. He asked good questions to know what experience we were coming with. The boat and all the gear was the best I've had on a charter. We mostly targeted pelagics with flutter jigs. We wanted hands on, active fishing, and that's what we did. Marcos had also caught live bait before we arrived that morning, which caught us our biggest fish, a king mackerel over 40 pounds. While we were looking for that experience, based on what I saw, 787 would be perfect for family trip looking for more action on smaller fish.
I suggest reaching out to 787 a few days before for some tips to avoid seasickness. We didn't, and despite one of the group having some trouble, we landed five fish, including the beast of a king. All of this was on light tackle spinning rods. My forearms and shoulders were burning and it was awesome! Marcos expertly cleaned our catch so we could have an epic meal at our vacation rental. I would highly recommend fishing with 787!

Captain Marcos was amazing (we went today) ! We had a fantastic time. He was a warm, welcoming and very knowledgeable. Most captains clearly love fishing but you could tell Marcos Loved the fish and Loved the waters. He brings his professionalism as well as his knowledge as a marine biologist to your trip. You could tell he had intimate knowledge of the waters I highly doubt many other guides have there. We will most definitely be back if not even this weekend!

Captain Marcos was great from start to finish. His knowledge, expertise, and passion for not only fishing but also all other aspects of marine life was extremely appreciated. We really liked his multi-species approach, which allowed us to not only catch dinner, but also get into some tarpon! We will be back soon! Thanks Captain Marcos!

Our fishing trip exceeded expectations in every way. The marina and boat were easy to find and Capt Marcos greeted us with a smile. Not only did we have a successful outing, landing 4 species in a morning trip, we got an amazing education in local ecology and light tackle angler techniques. Thanks for a memorable fishing trip. My son is still over the moon with excitement about the trophy kingfish he caught!

Incredible fishing experience with Captain Marcos. He is extremely knowledgeable in the local wildlife and aquaculture. We pulled up to the first spot and immediately hooked up with two large tarpon. With the help and knowledge of captain Marcos we landed both of them and got pictures. My girlfriend (who has never been fishing before) landed several very good tarpon including a 40+ pounder. We then headed out to a different place and caught bonefish. Truly one of the best experiences I have ever had fishing. I Highly recommend captain Marcos for any fishing adventure.

Hello what time u leaving for fishing and how much cost for a day? Thanks.

How do you book The fishing charter with Marcus? I know price depends on how many fish but what's the range for a half day inland? Thank you!

I was quoted $520 for 3-4 passengers for 1/2 day of inshore/tarpon fishing, with $100 for each additional guest. The quote for off-shore was $650 for a half day, $950 for a full day. Trip advisor won't let me post Marcos' number, but do an internet search for 787 Fishing, and his website should come up. He's very quick to respond.

So, the website offers 2 different type of fishing tours. A *Inshore* and *Deep Sea*. which one would be more exciting for my wife's first time?

If she is prone to getting sea sick, I would say in shore. Even that can be rough on some days as the prevailing winds are from the east. There's always wind on the ocean so your calmest water is the 7 am trip. If you want a couple to several large fish, try off shore. If you want a lot of fish, then in shore. My wife actually got tired of pulling them in as they really pull on the light tackle. Have fun. We loved the Fajardo and Liquillo area. Be sure to take the scenic drive south on PR901. Also hit the beach seafood restaurant in Liquillo called Pasta y Pueblo. Amazing!!

So if we caught fish could we have it processed and pick it up the next week after our cruise and take it back on the airplane?
Written January 3, 2015
I don't recall that service being offered. I would call Captain Marcos and check with him. He's very nice and can probably help you find someone who can do this for you if he doesn't offer it himself.
