Canceled on us the day of the trip! I would not recommend this company. One of the main things we wanted to do while in Puerto Rico was the Bio tours, so we booked in advance with this company. On the day of our tour, they reached out to cancel. Their reason was due to it being Holy Friday. I understand it was a holiday, we knew that when we booked, but to cancel on the day of the tour with no real reason was very frustrating. The tour was planned at the end of our trip so we were left scrambling trying to find other options. Luckily we found a better company that was able to take us out on Easter Sunday. The Bay is definitely worth visiting and was one of the highlights of our trip to Puerto Rico. We are lucky we found a better company as this company almost ruined that experience for our group. Use a different company as this company is very unreliable. We are 6 days after the cancellation and we still haven't received a refund or any communication about when the refund will be processed.

This tour was a disappointment. Crammed into a narrow canal in a line of inexperienced kayakers along with at least 5+ other tour companies all going out at the same time, at the same place. Double kayaks are mandatory, which is fine except if you're a family of 5, one of you will be paired with a stranger or put in a 3 person kayak, which was quite uncomfortable for the middle person. Eco Adventures seems like a fine tour company, but the general set up of this tour -- all of these competing tour companies all at the same place -- means that you are either rushed through or stopped & waiting along the canal with other paddlers' kayaks in your face. People on the tour didn't even know the basics... like how to stop a moving kayak. On the way back, we were finally able to see the bioluminescence, though it wasn't as magical as expected. Could have been better if we weren't dealing with crazy kayakers, now in almost complete darkness. The setting for this tour had the potential to be peaceful and beautiful and amazing.... but with the set up, there's just no way. Frankly, I'm surprised by all of the glowing reviews.

We love the bio bay tour and eco adventures! The tour guides are so knowledgeable and helpful! I have done both times on the tour. If you have kids (or adults who are afraid of the dark) I would recommend the earlier time (6pm). Darkest is great for seeing it light up but harder to navigate through the mangroves. We did the earlier tour and I felt like we could still see the bio bay really good.

Derek did a great job navigating us through the lagoon and to the bay. It was a fun experience and our children who are 18 and 16 had a great time. I would do the 8pm time slot because its darker outside.

The biobay tour was definitely worth it. I’d recommend the 8PM tour over the 6PM tour as the darker it is the better you will be able to see the bioluminescence. Try not to book around full moon. They provide a tarp you put over your head so you can see the bioluminescence better. Don’t expect to see anything like the pictures show in the ads. It’s basically colored glittery water, looks like fireflies in the water when you move your hand around in it. Make sure to get there early, we weren’t able to arrive until 7:58 and had issues finding parking and ended up being about 2 minutes away from everyone leaving for the water without us. Online it said 8PM-10PM, but ours ended by 9:30. Overall a great tour as long as you don’t have too high of expectations of the colors being as crazy as they look in ads! One more thing - it is a lot of fairly past paddling in the double kayaks so I would be familiar with kayaking if possible, although I read other reviews from first-time kayakers saying they were fine. Check it out if you are in the area!
