The people I met in Prilep were all very proud of this monastery. During the communist years it was abandoned. But since the fall of the Yugoslavian state, Nuns have reclaimed this sweet little monastery on the edge of town. It is a lovely compound built up on the rocky, desert foothills, so the contrast is part of it's charm. The tiny chapel has some nice frescoes and the compound is quiet and peaceful. Photos are not permitted within the grounds of the monastery, so no need to lug it with you. If a nun is around you can get her to open the souvenir booth and purchase a short book on the monastery to give you the history, or some of the other items to help fund with their mission. All in all it won't take very long to visit, but it can still leave a lasting impression.

This Monastery besides that has historical value, is place where anytime one is there, feels tranquil and high. best place for meditation, for finding oneself.

While doing a trip around Macedonia, we decided to visit this monastery. We were impressed how well preserved the area was and how clean was the monastery maintained. It is situated in a nice hill in one of the city peripheria, so no other buildings around. Calm and piecefull place on the rocks.

St Michael Archangel is one of these remote monasteries built on a mountainl top, only reachable after a significant climb by car (or foot!). At this moment it is being heavily reconstructed, so the church cannot be visited (July/August '14) and all the surrounding buildings seem to have been stripped for a new future (hotel???). Still a nice place to visit on this distant location, but clearly limited.

A little bit of heaven perched on the side of the cliff overlooking the port area of Jaffa. Peaceful and with murals to view. Worth the stop.

The view is undescribable. The place is a spiritual centre. There's a monastery with old fresques. A must visit in Prilep

This is a nice little church with some historic murals. You can visit for free and it won't take long to look around. There's a small car park under the church and good walks nearby. No photos are allowed.

Beautiful and calm place to visit in the mornings, enjoy the view and take a hike instead of using car.
