Accessible from the Vatnajokull visitors centre (parking is about 700kr, pay inside the visitor centre) this is one of two trails which are open to everyone at any skill level. The trip to the waterfall is uphill and there is a secondary waterfall about half...More

This is very average but if you have the time it is worth doing. The walk is very easy and you can see nice flowers on the way.

We spent the night before in our car in the parking lot of Skaftafell so we had a chance to start early. If the sky is clear you have a lovely view of mountains and you pass another beautiful waterfall Hundafoss. At the end of...More

We had the most delightful couple of hours hiking up to a beautiful waterfall where on the way down we had big sky panoramic views over the coastal plain.

This is a very cool hike and worth the time. People out of shape will have some difficulties. However when you see the glacier it is unbelievable! Totally worth the time and effort!
