I wish I could give more than 5 stars - what an incredible experience! We were expertly guided by the knowledgable and super friendly Katerina. She was full of interesting facts and was lots of fun to be around. We were never rushed and she adapted the hike for us. She even asked if we would mind being a little late back from our tour so that we could hike further into the glacier to see a cool ice waterfall!

Melrakki only takes small groups onto the glacier, which is a great way to feel extra safe and to get more time to talk with your guide. They also drive all the way up to the glacier, unlike some of the other companies, which means that you don’t need to spend 30 minutes walking to the glacier and can instead spend more time on the ice! What I also really liked was that they have deliberately chosen their tour departure times so that they are not starting at the same time as the other companies. This meant that at one point we had the whole glacier to ourselves. What an experience!

We’re already looking forward to returning in the winter to see the ice caves! Thoroughly recommend this company to everyone.

The glacier tour was a great experience. Very well prepared, and Katarina is a very charming and attentive guide. We were all alone on the glacier, and because the sun fought through the fog only late, Katarina took extra time, which was worth it. Grandiose. When five of us went down again, only the other, much larger groups came, and were unlucky that the fog covered the best view again.

Zanet is knowledgeable passionate and a fun tour guide. She knows what it takes for us to make the most out of the trip. I joint the 4.5 hours trip and wish to stay longer! She’s not those tour guide who just “work” but she uses her experience and tailor made a special experience for us

It was amazing. We arrived and received the necessary equipment to walk on the Glacier, like the crampons, helmet and a ice axe. Got in the land rover defender for a short ride. Oddur our tour guide help us to equip the crampons and we went up the Glacier. During the walk, he explained all kind of interesting stuff about the formation of Glacier and he had great knowledge of all kind of interesting facts. High up the Glacier with beautiful sights on the whole Glacier Valley, we had our (own brought) lunch. On our way down, we booked great progress, so we had enough time for a small detour, which shows, that our guide really put in his efforts for a very nice experience. Well worth it and highly recommended. Kind regards, Rob

The best! Our guide Zanet was absolutely lovely- a perfect mix of adventurous and keeping us safe. She was kind, warm, fun and knowledgeable. The hike was fascinating, and the true highlight was the ice climbing. We’ve done a lot of adventurous things in our family travels (and we are not world athletes!) and this is at the top of the list. if you are mildly fit, consider the private ice climbing tour option. Also, the fact that this company drives further into the glacial area before you start hiking is a big plus. The approach is very flat with lots of loose rock so it was nice to skip that part.

Absolutely the best! We are so glad we booked with this company. Our day on the glacier was filled with exploration of crevasses, arches, pinnacles, ice walls, and other stunning ice formations. We had a huge smile on our faces the entire time. Small group sizes allow the guide to tailor the experience and you get to do more adventuring (think trying to accommodate 15-20 people brought in on a small bus versus 2 to 8). We could see other groups and they weren't doing the stuff we were doing. Our guide was exceptional. He's a friend of the couple that owns the company and they all do what what they do because the love it. We haven't wrote a review for a company in a long time but we had to share our praise for this outfit. They deserve it. We'd give them 1,000 stars if we could.

We did the Sapphire Ice cave tour at Jökulsárlón with Franzi and it was an amazing experience. She was a really really nice tour guide and explained us a lot about the Glaciar, the Cave and Iceland in general giving us tips and even recommendations for the journey. The sapphire ice cave is an nature espectacle that must be seen if you come to Iceland, being inside a millenary glaciar appreciating it's forms and colors is something you can't skip and Meraki tours granted us a very beautiful experience. Higly recommended.

We connected with Milrakki Adventures for a private glacier hike and climbing experience as we wanted to make the most of our time while on the glacier. I couldn't be happier that we did! Zanet led us on the perfect tour of the glacier while looking for just the right pitch for our climb. We had a wonderful time that couldn't have been better with each person enjoying multiple climbing opportunities. Thank you Zanet for sharing your sport with us. Your passion, enthusiasm, and hospitality were fabulous.

What an incredible experience! Antoine was the perfect guide, passionate, helpful and friendly. You know he knows what he is doing. Being in a small group we got to see and explore more than larger groups. Antoine made an effort to show us special places and surprises. Can highly recommend this tour above all the other companies and offerings. Thank you for this unforgettable experience!

If you are traveling along the south coast - do not miss taking a glacier hike! The Glacier Adventure was a fantastic way to spend time on the glacier and go further than other groups. You are even driven closer to the the glacier than the large tour buses. With only 8 in our group, it was a perfect size to move at a good pace while hiking. We packed a small lunch and got to enjoy it while taking in the beautiful glacier landscape!
