A short detour from the popular visit to selfoss and Dettifoss which I recommend. On the way back from the Dettifoss selfoss walk to the 862 turn right on a little dirt road to the amazing view point. A short walk from the parking and...More

The view of the falls is from a little distance and from above, looking down into the falls and the canyon. The road to the viewing site is very rough and may test a regular car.

If you are touring Iceland you are probably trying to see as many waterfalls as possible. This was a fairly short stop. Not far from Dettifoss, with a beautiful canyon downstream. The waterfall wasn’t spectacular and you are better bring on the east side

It is a lovely place, but if you have been to a number of other waterfalls and travelled around Iceland, it doesn't really offer anything more. Only go if you have the time, otherwise there is lots more to see in this beautiful country

Hafragilsfoss is the third of four waterfalls on the Jökulsá á Fjöllum river in north east, Iceland, and worth a stop. It is not as dramatic as Dettifoss (its neighbor), or as beautiful as Selfoss, but if you're at Dettifoss, it is well worth the...More
