The place is always beautiful, the port is run like crap. If you happen to be assigned a mooring in front of the B.52 it is a nightmare. Disco music at unacceptable levels late into the night. It is not clear how the Municipality/Captaincy allows such a massacre. MAI PIÙ!!! A tip for everyone: La Maddalena and every port in northern Sardinia is millions of times better, better organized and cheaper. But above all you can sleep in peace.

I have known Bonifacio for years and I am always in admiration for this beautiful and majestic city, it is magical! I come sailing with friends, the people of the port welcome us perfectly, help us in our maneuvers, it is perfect!
But recently, horror!😡😱A bar, the B52, an open-air disco that spits out its decibels until 2:00 in the morning!!! How can we allow that? What a shame! No more mooring at the port of Bonifacio!

Exceptional site and overall quality restaurants. The port would be great without the B52 which will turn your stay into a nightmare. The DJ is not subject to any decibel limit until the middle of the night. Not recommended for sailors or anyone looking for a legitimate sleep.
Too bad.

Left boat here over the winter. Pleasant location, good water & power facillites on pontoons. Dovnside is pontoon access it completely open to public & lots of tourists about, who wander on, taking photos etc, Not even notices to restrict them.

We spent quite a lot of time wandering around this Port.
Lovely view of it from the old town looking down and also from the harbor with the citadel in the background.
We ate at a few of the restaurants and they aren’t all as expensive as they look considerably the Port has some quite fancy yachts tied up here.
We enjoyed looking at all the yachts, ferries, sailboats and a few shops also!
It’s possible to book pleasure boat trips here to see the cliffs etc

The port has a great hustle and bustle about it! Plenty of restaurant choices and boutiques if you want to indulge! Very picturesque place! Small tip as you'd expect:the restaurant prices are more expensive at the port than in the old town!

We were on a sailing holiday at the beginning of October and arrived in the harbour at around 14:00. At this time there was plenty of space, by about 18:00 the place had filled up and the larger yachts 45 feet + were having difficulty finding spots. We stayed two days and had time for some long walks along the cliff tops and round the old city. A fascinating place to visit. Good food available, small supermarket near the harbour office.
I would recommend a visit.

This might be an unusual review for some, since my friends and I arrived from Sardinia on a chartered sailing yacht, and therefore I'm perhaps seeing a different side. It was the end of July, but a weekday, and we arrived early afternoon, and stayed overnight on the yacht.
First impressions are of a busy commercial port, with a large crowded marina. Sightseeing trip boats are everywhere. Space seemed in short supply, but the harbour launch crews found us a berth a few steps away from the row of restaurants that line the southern side of the quay. Having tied up, we were soon enjoying a pleasant snack lunch and a cold beer in the Irish Pub. There were plenty of tourists, but it wasn't overbearing, and there was a good atmosphere. Prices were on the high side as one might expect in a tourist area.
We explored the Citadel in the early evening, and it's well worth 5 Euros return to take the road train that leaves from the Eastern end of the basin. The views are spectacular, but the price of food and drink is roughly double the quayside equivalent.
The mooring fee cost 80 Euros for one night. Showers were available, but the conditions were primitive to say the least. Compared with about £35 for a UK South Coast marina with modern facilities, we were definitely unimpressed.
We had a good dinner in a quayside restaurant for about 25 Euros each, including a glass of wine. The evening was quite lively, with loud music playing, and by sunset it was getting quite crowded, but still a good atmosphere. We returned to our boat, and enjoyed a drink before turning in about midnight.
Then the music volume increased, and was still going strong at 0300. There were people falling down drunk on the quay, and urinating into the marina between the boats. I guess that took the edge off the experience.
So, worth a visit, but don't stay in the marina, and unless you're into that kind of behaviour, have an early night in a hotel.
