Nice snorkeling
Sep 2019
We snorkeled here twice as we were staying at Isla Palenque and it is easy to get to and the weather was changing a lot. Nice snorkeling. We saw whales as it is the season. A lovely outing although Isla Secas is amazing so also go there as snorkeling is better and beaches are secluded and amazing.

Boring
May 2019 • Couples
Apart from not being told the trip would last more than 2 hours one way from the resrvations office, I would definately recommend going somewhere else. Nothing was offered that was included with the $135.00 we paid per person. We were offered and paid for the all you can drink and with Lunch and welcome drink included. Well, the drink was not offered and we had to pay for drinks but the bottled water was free. All the water you can drink for free but everything else you had to pay for....wasn't much! The food choice was hamburger with rice or fish and rice! What a combination. The food was less than tasteful, to include the over cooked burnt hamburger. Who burns a hamburger.......the staff once on the Island are not helpful or want to attend to you, they stayed at the restaurant (if you want to call it that) listening to music! The Island was really nice but you get bored really fast! Would never recommend this place to anyone unless you are a hermit! You would be better off going somewhere closer than this place.

Paradise on the Pacific side of Panama

Although is 2 hours by ferry, the place is paradise. Not very crowded, great food, great service, and everything is clean. You get to see starfishes if you are lucky enough. Definitely recommend it. You can book it thru Taboga Express.

Pirate's Cove

We spend a day cruising the Boca Chica area via a water taxi that we hired for the day. Isla Bolanos was our midday break for a cocktail and cold refreshment at the bar. We ordered grilled fish which was succulent and tasty with plantain chips.
You can easily imagine the pirates that used to sit on the same beaches and wonder where treasure was buried. A truly enjoyable experience.

Wonderful secluded beach
Mar 2017 • Couples
We took a panga out here in the morning, settling on a three hour trip with a local at the dock in Boca Chica. It has a pretty white sand beach. We popped open a fresh coconut and enjoyed it in the shade. It can get windy in the afternoons so be careful. Our ride back was a bit of an adventure.

this quiet island in the bay
Feb 2017 • Family
a stop on the Windstar cruise this Parque Nacional Marino Gulfo de Chiriqui, Isla Parida, a perfect row of coconut trees line a protected fine sand beach with really warm, gentle, clear water, little in terms of facilities, bit of a Gilligan's Island feel, a former pig farm they say and you know where you are ... your in the jungle baby

Beyond remote, you'll lose her in the turn ... Panama, Panama ha ha ha ha ha

most amazing beach
Jun 2016 • Family
This is really a fantastic Island with 3 amazing beaches! Sunglasses is a necessity at these beaches because the sand is really very white with sunsine. In the right season you will maybe meet some whales by going to the Island, even Bolanos is only 20 minutes away from the Mainland Boca Chica.

This remote island in the Gulf of Chiriqui is a fun day, but you should come prepared. There is nothing here but trees, sand, and ocean. The waters are clear and if you can negotiate a good price for a boat ride it is worth the trip. We paid $15 per person. The boat ride from the mainland is about a 1/2 hour. The guy that brings you will anchor his boat and wait for you to be ready to return. There is shade, but bring your sunblock, because the sun in Panama is harsh. Get there early too. That way you can pick a prime spot in the shade.

Lovely white sandy beach!

Spent a day here on a trip from Boquete. Lovely for swimming or just lying on the beach, with the water lapping around you. Look for the thousands of hermit crabs, scuttling around. Fascinating little creatures!

Snorkeling in Isla Bonlanos
Feb 2014 • Family
We live locally here in Panama, but only occasionally go to the ocean. A friend of our recommended that we go to Bolanos as it was quiet, beautiful, crystal clear waters, relatively undiscovered and not too expensive. We called "Leo" the owner (+507-6936-0778) of a small fishing boat to take us out. Leo speaks some English, so this helped. He knew exactly where the best beach was, where the best snorkeling was, and stayed with us the entire day on the island while we relaxed. The boat rental with Leo cost $120 during the week, and I understand it is $150 on the weekend. He doesn't provide any food or other services, but had some masks and snorkels we could use. This is a great spot for relaxing and snorkeling, for couples solo and with kids. Afterwards, Leo called a friend at the dock who sold us some large live lobster for $6 per pound. We steamed them that evening and they were delicious!
