We have visited Cerro Punta several times, but never had time to visit Haras Horse Ranch. We went by and discovered that the tours are guided but the guide was ill that day. However, they were quick to offer to make arrangements for the following morning. Note: the visitor’s entrance is not at the main gate (on the “main” road to Cerro Punta/Guadalupe); there is a small sign directing visitors to the proper entrance. We arrived the following morning and were treated to a private tour. The young woman who served as our guide spoke a little English and I have some use of the Spanish language so we got on fairly well. She recruited one of the workers to accompany us and serve as our translator. We chose to walk so we could get a better feel for the grounds. All the people there are very friendly and welcoming. There are many beautiful horses there. We learned that this is one of the finest horse ranches in Panama, perhaps the finest. My wife, who is a big fan of horses, was thoroughly delighted. The grounds, in and of themselves, are worth the tour. The stables are very well managed and the horses are incredibly well treated. We had a chance to feed and pet Indy-vidual, one of their more famous horses and my wife got to ride Centurion, their most famous horse, a short distance. The visit to the cemetery for their prominent animals that have died was very moving. I recommend this tour for everyone, even those who are not necessarily horse lovers.

I went to Haras Cerro punta, It is a horse ranch where you can make a tour through the ranch itself. They are in charge of taking care of thoroughbred horses and they also offer you the opportunity to learn a lot of the types of breeds, the breeding, how horses compete. You can take pictures, and believe me a lot of awesome pictures!

At the end of the tour I learn a lot of things I didn´t knew. Oh ask for the picture with Centurion the big horse. I recommend this place!

I never was in an "haras". I learned that an Hara is a place where only horses are rised and trained with the purpose to prepare for famous races. I really enjoyed the explanation of the guide and the humour of all employees. I really recommend to go there when you are around Volcán, a small city located in the slopes of Barú Volcano, northern Panama.

Excellent tour, we came on a family trip with our little girls (two and three years old), they enjoyed a lot. Domingo was the greatest tour guide.

The tours are from 8 or 9 am until 3 pm. You need to have a car to get from the lobby/coffee shop to the starting point of the tour. This tour lasts 45 minutes and you will learn when was founded the place and by who. They show you all the facilities. The best part of the tour was taking a picture on top of Morinda, a white beautiful horse.

We were here for a kick off event at night. I would have loved to have seen the place with more light and during the day because it is a gorgeous area. The place is beautifully maintained.

This horse-breeding establishment is in the middle of nowhere Panama, high in the mountains, but they have raised some fabulous racehorse studs for the horse-racing world. The horses and the location are both stunning. If you don't speak Spanish, they have an English language tour once a day.

The farm is easy to find due to the great signs. When I was there, I was the only person on the tour. The guide spoke only Spanish so I didn't get all of what she said. She explained a lot of technical info, the entry of new horses and how they are evaluated/trained for racing, the breeding and raising of the babies, the history of the farm and its champions, and the hospital and boarding facilities. I thought the tour would be a petting tour but these horses are worth so much money that now I understand why there wasn't any petting time (except for the Percheron that anyone can sit on and the guide will take your photo). I learned a lot about throughbreds and racing.
