On my recent visit to Guatemala, my MIL booked us all a stay at Irtra, where we got to visit all three parks. You pay admission to the park and then you have to buy stamp cards for the rides. I think it's 100Q for 12 rides. You can also pay a little more for an unlimited ride bracelet. I like that they do this, because there are some of us that don't ride all the rides and just enjoy walking around theme parks. This helps keep the prices lower for us.

We came in around opening time and it was pretty empty. No waits for basically any of the rides we went on throughout the day. There is a lot to choose from and the kiddie section is very well stocked with rides that are exciting for adults too.

Beware of the pirate ship water gun ride because YOU WILL GET SOAKED. We learned this the hard way - or perhaps our family were just cheaters who chased our ship to squirt water at us...

You can spend an entire day here easy. The park is extremely well maintained and everyone is super friendly. Not a piece of trash or a bugs in sight.

Spent a day with some friends in Xetulul and I can tell it sure was a great one! First you need to pay an entrance fee which is 100 quetzales but if a Guatemala ID holder pays the fee for the whole group I believe it only cost 10 quetzales instead. Then you are required to purchase an admission, which can either be a 'bracelet' for unlimited rides for 50 quetzales or you might purchase a 'park passport' which allows you twelve rides only but you can share those twelve rides with someone else, though we believed the bracelet would do us better and it surely did. Make sure to attend the magic show at te French theatre everyday at 1 or 2PM, there's also a Spanish flamenco show at the Spanish area. The rides were all awesome but probably the best one was the Avalancha, the biggest rollercoaster in the region. One thing: if you plan to have lunch, make sure to have someone reserve a table at any of the fast food restaurants as tables are scarse.

Its really cheap ($10) and you can go on all the rides you want. Although there is not that many rides, its really great for family. During December, there is NOBODY at the park. It is deserted and open, so you will be able to ride every ride more than once (I did the bumper carts 14 times in a row). You will enjoy it.

This is like Disney's Epcot. It was gorgeous. There were no lines and we rode thrill rides with no or minimal wait. They have a little London with Big Ben, France, Itlay with gondolas and an amazing flavorful restaurant, Spain, Guatemala with a giant temple and jaguars. It was great fun for the entire family. Only ten quetzals or about a $1 for locals to bring in 5 people. Can't believe how inexpensive a place like this is. Right across from it is Xocomil an amazing waterpark that as at the same level as Ranging Waters in California without the long lines. You can do both parks in one day, walking distance from each other, as long as you go early. They can each be one day though they are just that amazing. My teens had a blast at both

Just returned from Guatemala visiting the park and it's beautiful new 21-acre addition that contains three new themed lands with children and family rides - pirates, fantasyland and the Caribbean. Very nice and family friendly, with a huge pirate ship restaurant! The park is one of the cleanest I have every visited and the staff is amazingly well trained, hospitable and attentive. This is my second visit here and I have stayed at the on-property hotels both times which were wonderful. I highly recommend that if you are in the area, stop by.

What a great experience. I went down with my girlfriend to stay for the weekend and the rooms were very clean, nice amenities and with a lot of space, also very nice furniture and comfortable beds. Plus the water park and the theme park are amazing, but you should go first at 9am to the water park and then to the theme park because the water park fills up very quickly.

Transportation to and from the IRTRA parks is the challenge. We took the First Class bus service of Litegua from Guatemala City which is the best solution considering safety and costs. The entrance prices and food and souvenir costs are reasonable and the park attractions beyond compare outside the world of Disney. There are 3 parks and allow a day for each park. The accommodations within the park are awesome and affordable.

This is perhaps the best place to visit in Guatemala in this category. Resort, amusement park, water park and many restaurants all in one place with lots of green fields, flowers and peacocks. In the past you could only visit if you knew and were invited by a member, now you can visit the website and make your own reservation. There a 4 hotels, each one has a different theme and price. Low to hight. The hight is actually a villa type. Each hotel has is own pool area but you can use all of them. Great food any tome of the day. There is club house with games and a spa. You can made reservations and be pampered at the best cost. There a soccer fields, basquetball. Lots of area to walk and play. This is gated resort so you feel very safe. From you resort hotel you can take the tram to the amusement park or water park. Is best to dedicate a day for each.

This place is just great. Seriously. The quality of the rides is just really, really good. Think Great America, Six Flags, Carowinds. Subtract the expense and the lines. Actually we went during the week while local school was in session (in Guatemala "summer vacation" is November and December) so it may be busier on weekends or during local high season. But my kids had an absolute blast.

The Avalanche will leave shaken and rattled. There is a full compliment of rides suitable for younger kids as well.

One thing to remember is that access to the rides is based on height. Your kids are likely the size of basketball titans in Guatemala. My eight-year-old is tall for his age but not a giant. He could get onto 90% of the rides in the park.

Both Xetulul and Xocomil are organized, safe, and an absolute blast. We cannot wait to return.
