Nice Museum
Sep 2020
Very nice museum with friendly staff. The building used to be a government office building in the past. It was well preserved and maintained. The building itself has lots of history. This is a charming place. The museum tells you interesting stories about Trat province. A must-visit if you have never been to Trat. You will learn and appreciate this province more when you know the history.

Great aircon... and exhibition

Don't get me wrong, for Trat this is a great museum. I think the local authorities did a great job, considering that probably they don't have too many funds. Even the building museum itself is a nice historical building. Definitely one of the best things to do in Trat.

Trat Museum
Feb 2019
Located a nicely restored traditional wooden long house on the site of the former city hall, Trat's museum features six rooms of interpretive panels (in English and Thai). Models, and displays covering the history of the province of Trat from its people, culture, typical dished and archaeological history The biggest major historical event, the Naval Battle of Ko Chang, is explained with ship models, light and sound.
Overall it's well presented and comprehensive.

Trat history in short

A lot of effort has been put to the museum - photos, diaramas and artifacts. Still one hour max. The building itself is an old teak house and former City Hall.

Very interesting

We are living in thailand more than 14 years but this corner of amazing thailand was a undiscovered place to us. Trat is not a tourist destination and only known as pass by to kho chang but this city is well worth to visit. The museum is very well done and a must for people interesting in the past and history of this south-eastern part of the kingdom.
Surprisingly, all is written in english too so even visitors with no or only a little knowlege of the thai language are not lost.

Good visit
Jan 2018 • Couples
We thought this was a very nice museum packed with loads of information about the history, agriculture and tourism in the wider Trat area.
The displays are good and clear and everything has an English version which is unusual. It's housed in a lovely large Teak building and we were greeted by a delightful man who also gave us some Tourist leaflets as well.
Well worth a visit!

Plenty to see and worth it. Some nice exhibits and a nice look into the past history of the city. Easy to get to and plenty of parking. Close to the city centre.
