Had a good and thorough though quick Open Water Dive course, which we very much appreciated. The gear, the people, and the place is all very good. Our instructor, Chami (Chamara) was a very experienced diver who did a good job guiding two guys through their first ever dives in these 3 days, and made sure it was a nice and fun experience. Even though one of us had some problems with the breathing part, Chami took good care and made sure it was (and felt as) a very safe dive. Can highly recommend! And again thank you to Chami and the Weligama Bay Dive center for a good time :)

Just completed my PADI open water certificate at the Weligama Bay Dive Center! I had such a great experience and would highly recommend to anyone who loves diving or wants dive for the first time. The experience was professional, fun and most importantly safe. I was very happy with my instructor, Chamara, who made sure I was always safe and having a good time. I also never felt rushed and that I could do things at my own pace. 10/10 experience :)))

Very professional, patient, friendly, reliable. Recommending to everyone who come to weligama or mirissa for diving or snorkeling. And they also cooperate with whale watching. Any activity you want to do at that region, can contact them.
And they move to Trincomalee in April when the rain comes to the southern part of this island. Means you can still find them in Tincomalee.

While diving sites in Weligama itself are not spectacular, Thaminda and his team are a great and reasonably priced place if you want to pick up the sport. The instructors are very helpful and patient with our two teenage kids who took the Open Water course. Safety is taken seriously and the school even provides a Tuktuk service to help with travel to and from the school. We greatly enjoyed our dives with them. Thank you.

I have had the pleasure of diving with The crew at Weligama Bay Dive Center on several occasions over the course of my time in Sri Lanka. I was very impressed with the the entire operation, the organization of the dive shop, the quality of equipment, the friendly and knowledgable staff, and most importantly the focus on safety. The dive sites are all a short boat ride away, and the dive guides know the sites like the back of their hand, making sure to point out interesting aquatic life, and ensuring we had a greet experience. As someone who is a dive professional, and has been diving for 22+ years, I can with confidence recommend this dive center to both experienced and new divers.

We’ve been wanting to take our open water certificates for a long time and ended up choosing Weligama bay dive center as the reviews were great. Turned out that they more than lived up to the good reviews and we couldn’t have been happier with the experience. Our diving instructor was extremely good at what she did and did an excellent job at making us feel comfortable and safe, and ensured that we had a good time and understood what material we were learning. The dive school itself had an awesome vibe and both the other instructors and the owner made us feel welcome and taken care of. HIGHLY recommend if you wanna go diving in Weligama!!

I completed my AOWD Certificate with my instructor Armin in December 2019. He did a great job in showing me the diving skills and was answering all my questions patiently. I did not rush through all the 5 dives within 2 days, so I spread my dives over more days, having a two 3-day-breaks in between the dives. That was no problem for them. I stayed 11 days close to Weligama with a very nice familiy (at Mountain Relax Inn), so I had enough time to do a lot of relaxing, surfing and diving.
The whole team of Weligama Bay Dive Center is very friendly and welcoming. They have good gear and you get tea and a lot of fruits! Diving was great as well, especially on the dive spots Noisy Rock and Yala Rock. I can very much recommend these two! So many colourful fish and an astonishing and interesting rocky landscape underwater.

We went on two dives here in December 2019. The dive shop was organized and professional. The equipment seemed to be in fine condition. We are beginner divers and the dive master made us feel confident and like we were in good hands. The boats are small, so there were only two of us with our dive master which was nice. The diving itself isn't necessarily the best due to visibility, but we saw some very cool and interesting under water rock formations. We definitely enjoyed our dives with Weligama Bay Dive Center and would recommend them if you're looking to dive in the Weligama/Mirissa area.

I had a fantastic experience at this dive center. Without experience, I completed the open water course in 3 days. The diving sites had great marine wildlife, but what stood out most was the friendly staff, their welcoming and relaxed attitudes and their professionalism. Would highly recommend stopping by here if you're interested in a fun dive/license!

Great company, very friendly and professional guides who know the area and are anxious for you to have a great time.
They'll take you out to either the reef or the beach, which is granite coast line, but still has all the usual species of fish readily spotable...you can use their equipment at no extra cost and you can stay out as long as you like for the price...cost us £25 for the trip...enjoy jungle beach!

For the dives you have to be at our Diving Centre at 8.30 am for registration. We start off by watching a short video, to explain the basic theory information. After, we go into shallow water to get you used to the equipment and make sure you are comfortable. We will practice some basic skills until you feel confident. Finally, we will go for an ocean dive in one of our spectacular dive sites, all within 15 minutes from our dive shop on the beach.
The whole program takes around 3.5 hours, and costs $70 including the use of all equipment, a professional PADI instructor and one ocean dive.

It's not that often you will see a whale shark but if you're very lucky maybe you'll got the opportunity to see one. You will see a lot of beautiful fishes and if you're lucky even turtles! The dive school is very good, everybody is very friendly 😊
