Our car hire, a hybrid was comfortable for our 6 day customized tour! We are repeat customers so requested the same legendary driver, Dashara, whom we met 6 years previously. Seeing him greet us at the airport was like meeting up with an old friend. It was so lovely to be guided through to Dambulla at the most beautiful eco resort "Kandalama", to comfortably settle in and then begin our busy itinerary which more than met our expectations. Our highlights, were the village tour, and learning traditional cooking lessons ! We cannot make enough dahl and roti on our return from our trip! The joyous people we met during the Adams Peak climb, an absolute necessity, as was driving though the beautiful Green Hills in the tea plantation country, visiting the museum which explains the newly developed hydro electric dams which power all of Sri Lanka. Every experience where we met locals and learned their trades from brick making to tea making, was memorable! Sri Lanka has so much to offer! The tour guide's expertise makes a very comfortable and informative experience. Thank you Chamo tours! Our family love your business!! We cant wait to return again to Sri Lanka and experience the Blue Whale snorkeling and diving!

We traveled with Sri Lanka Chamo Tours in July 2020 & that was simply amazing. They were very professional since making the booking via phone and till the end of the journey. The van we got is spacious with full options and we never felt tired or bored throughout the drive. And also our friendly driver Sadun made the travel safe and on time. Within the entire trip, the owner contacted us frequently and get our feedback. They really cared about their customers and did their best to ensure our satisfaction. We can strongly recommend Sri Lanka Chamo Tours to anyone who seeks the best travel experience in Sri Lanka.

I visted Sri Lanka - Kandy and Colombo for four days and I had an awesome time. Asanka, our friendly tour guide, met us bright and early at the airport and proceeded to show us the sights from the airport to Kandy. He was extremely knowledgeable about the various sights, and made an effort to point out and explain everything - whether it was on the road passing the rice plantations, to the tea plantations, etc. He drove us safely to all the requested sights, and that was no easy feat, as traffic was rather hectic. We did whatever was on our tour itinerary and my only regret was that I only stayed 4 days and not longer as there is so much more to see and take in. I will definitely visit again and personally request Asanka as our guide.
I can strongly recommend Sri Lanka Chamo Tours to anyone who seeks the best travel experience in Sri Lanka.

We chose Chamo Tours because Chaminda was recommended to us by friends, and had fantastic reviews - we were not disappointed. From the planning stage Chaminda was incredibly informative and responsive, helping us to refine our itinerary and book activities such as the very popular train ride to Ella.
Our driver, Dinesh, met us at the airport and was with us for the whole 20 days. We covered a very large distance travelling all around Sri Lanka, and the van was spacious and modern and Dinesh was fantastic. He accommodated our last minute changes and was able to provide very useful tips on activities and restaurants. Nothing was too much trouble and he was great at negotiating the sometimes tricky roads (especially in the hilly areas of Kandy and Ella). He even took us on a hike up to a hidden gem of a waterfall, which was one of our most memorable experiences.
I cannot recommend Chaminda and Dinesh enough and will definitely be in touch when we return to Sri Lanka, hopefully next year.

Chamo Tours organised all my excursions in Sri Lanka. Yala National Park, the turtle hatchery plus surfing in Weligama and trekking in the Sinharaja rainforest. They are so well organised, accommodate last minute changes with ease and really look after you.

Our friends recommended Sri Lanka Chamo Tours to us. They had a great vacation 6 years ago. We got Asanka the same driver as them. So he was like an old friend to us. I organized the tour programs and accommodations myself, and we only asked for transportation for 7 days, but Asanka helped make the trip better. He knows almost everyone. Organized a great village program, restaurants, and waterfalls. He tolerated our "flexible-changing - needs" well.
Hope to return to Sri Lanka and travel with Asanka again! Thank you very much!

We had an excellent tour in Sri Lanka with Chamo Tours in 12 days. We started to plan our trip in last October with Chaminda who gave us dozens of ideas where to go and what to see.
He answered for our e-mails in few hours even Saturday and Sunday.
Chaminda prepared for us 7 different itinery while all our ideas matched.
His excellent driver and assistant Asanka met us at the airport and we traveled with him one thousand kilometers. We become a friends with him.
We visited the famous cultural cities as Dambulla, Sigiriya,Pollonaruwa, Kandy,Galle.
We were in the hills in Nuwara Eliya and we spent 2 days in the Yala national park. We rest in the ocean side in the village Indurawa.
Finally, I would like to thank to Chaminda and Asanka for their excellent work it has done.

I had an excellent 3 day tour of Sri Lanka organised by Chamo Tours. Day 1: pick-up in Colombo and drive to Sigiriya, stopping at Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage
and the Dambulla cave Temple. Day 2: Sigirya Rock at dawn (not to be missed), then drive to Kandy with interesting stops at a wood craft workshop and a spice garden (no obligation to buy stuff); cultural show at night. Day 3: explored Kandy including old palace, monastery, church, lake and botanical gardens; on the drive back to Colombo we made stops at a batik factory, gem workshop (no obligation to buy) and a tea factory (at my request). I had an excellent driver & guide in Shantha, who was good company as I was traveling solo; I enjoyed our conversation on the long journey. He helped expedite arrangements at the sites, gave more than ample time for self-exploration and never made me feel constrained by schedule. He gave really helpful tips and added stops based on our discussions. All prior arrangements were made via email with Chaminda, who responded on time and was very helpful setting up a very compact itinerary. We went in a Honda sedan, which is fine for 1-3 people. As such, I highly recommend Chamo Tours if you are thinking of visiting Sri Lanka. Note that a 3 day tour that I did is probably the minimum time for a reasonable tour of Sri Lanka as the interesting sites are spread around the vast island. Note that there is alot of driving involved so be mindful when bringing small kids and those prone to motion illness.

Started emailing Mr. Chamindra in late july to say what we wanted to see and do in Sri Lanka in december. I always got a reply and a suggestion within a day. I booked my hotels but he gave me names. Asanka was our driver for the 8 day trip. He was a good driver, always punctual, patient, fun, nice, by the end of the trip, he was a good friend. He brought us places we wouldn't of known or got the chance to see if we were on a tour with a big company. Really, Chamindra and Asanka made us fall in love with their country. Oh, and Sri Lanka has the best spicy food! Ask to make it spicy for sri lankans, not for tourists! Be prepared to sweat with joy!

We will be landing at Bandaranaike International Airport on the 19th of January 2017 and would like to be picked up from said airport for a 4 or 5 day tour of Sri Lanka's delightful attractions. Could you give us a rough idea of cost for said trip and do we have to book overnight accommodation ourselves or is it within the price? We are 2 Adults Male and Female and would settle for a twin room if necessary.........Thank you in anticipation.

Hello! I am trying to plan a 7-10 day vacation for my family and could really use some help. My husband and I have 3 boys, ages 9, 8 & 4, and we would like to do a safari in Yala and spend time at the beach. We wish to be able to swim, try surfing and have the boys play at the water's edge without worry. I thought to spend a couple nights out near Yala and then the rest of the time some place quiet, on the beach but within easy access to Galle.
Which airlines fly from Colombo to Hambantota? I was thinking it may be worth flying from Colombo to Hambantota and then back tracking by car but can't figure out who flies that route.

I suggest to book a flight to colombo Airport instead of to Hambantota Then Take your first night at Kandy on the route you can visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphange , Perdeniya Royal Botanical Garden,Temple of the tooth relic.
Then next dau Proceed to Yala via Nuwaraeliya & Ella on the way you can book a train ride from nanyoya to ella.Then from ella again you can meet the car & Proceed to Yala.
Next Morning do the safari at Yala & Proceed to your beach resort in down south.
I agree with BIGCARO Udawalawa also fine these days.Ambalangoda we have a very sceic sandy beach & most importantly it is unspoiled due to uncrowded.Your kids can play safely there.
I should tell you only sri lankan airlines did the operations to Hambantota before the presidential election.
